heat seekers?

ok so is this something i should ACTUALLY be concerned about? do helicopters really fly over our towns with heat seekers looking for attic cultivators? i cant find links or much about this. also who is LEO? i cannot find anything on them. the room i had ready for the garden has two outside walls, well one wall and the ceiling. should i concider doing only the cfls up there and building a room in the basement for the flowering (400watt hps).

if a single 400 is all you got dont even sweat it.

a couple pc's put off as much heat.

they look for glowing exterior walls, oddly hot vents etc. if you have 5000 watts against an exterior wall. you are gonna be seen for miles!

if u got a 400w light, they arent gonna come knocking unless someones calls them

ty, lets consider the 400 watter is almost touching the ceiling and im doing 24/0. also, how often do you think they do these stings? and who the hell is LEO?

might be visible but not enough to really be obvious. Insulate the cieling a bit and problem solved.

LEO = the cops, po po, the police, the state troopers, whatever you wanna call 'em...

wouldnt worry about the ceiling, there is an air space {attic} above it and then the roof.

400w anyways i wouldnt worry. if you dont make the entire neighborhood stink like pot and show all your friends your grow you will be fine. dont even sweat it. its perfectly legal to have a 400 watt light in your house, now when they fly over a house and see 15 1000w lights they know something is up.

i was always under the impression they needed a warrant before scoping out your house with FLIR. no idea if im right or wrong on that one though.

makes sense about leo now. about the ceiling and roof, i meant roof. that light is literally hanging from the roof. im also getting an inline fan exhausting out of an existing hole in roof for odor control. perhaps that will stink the yard on a hot day?? houses are close together here.
i wish i didnt find the security link. im so friggin paranoid now.

Leo using that equipment is after factory style grows.

Police overtime being expensive, they will target areas where there are large energy drains that these 'criminals' cause splicing into mains for free juice.

You could put some heat insulation up, invest in some cooling, get another fan; but don't get paranoid. best wishes nigel

Besides chaps,they dont need helicopters to do that, they could send out the barneys to do it from your frontyard with a handheld thermal register unit. Its the satellights that bother me, they can see every frenchmens rooftop.

you're right, luke, they do need a warrant. if they already have enough evidence to get a warrant, you were busted anyways.

They sell this insulated wrap at hydro shops and mail order shops that totally blocl ir signature.Its not that expensive,But how much would you pay for peace of mind anyway?
