I recently flew US domestic and got frisked. I didn't set off the metal detector but the TSA twerp immediately pulled me aside and did the old "stand with your legs spread and arms outstretched" routine. Then he patted down my arms, legs, back, chest. Quick but complete except for my privates. I was fucking shaking afterwards. Maybe they wrote something on my boarding pass (besides the dreaded "SSSS") - I couldn't read it. Perhaps TSA smelled the bowl I smoked prior to leaving home. Anyway...

What would happen if they had found that 10 grams tucked into my underwear when they frisked me? Do the state rules apply or is this a federal crime?

Would they have sent me to Gitmo for cock meat sandwiches?

IMO I would never do that again, next time use better judgement. Is that ten grams really worth you going to jail for?

depends which state you were in probably. i always get pulled over to be searched...i just figure i must look the part..
i never would bring smoke on me personally...i hide it in my check in luggage...and i mean cleverly hide...just small amount though...just enough to get me buzzed where i'm headed.

Yeah - that was my general decision. I was totally careless and it almost costs me. I spent the better part of the week dwelling on what almost happened and how fucked up everything would have been if he had patted 3 inches higher.

I assume they would have immediately gotten a search warrant for my house and car. So add cultivation, and if they found and traces on that scale in the kitchen, sale.

Let this be a warning to those fellow travelers who carry...

Ever since I got pulled aside for the level 2 security screening (what you had, with the red SSSSSS) I have had no notion of taking MJ on the plane. Prior to that I would do it without a second thought but the risk is too high these days.

This would have been a federal case being that (I assume) you were attempting to carry a banned substance over state lines. It is an automatic meeting with a representative of the DEA.

No, once you attempt to go over state lines (be it by plane, train, bus, car, etc...) you enter the realm of the Feds/DEA.

yeah i would have to say youd be fucked on that one...

generaly the tsa is not too worried about what you smoke. they are looking for guns and shit. honestly i think they really try and overlook personal amounts of pot.

as for tsa pat downs. Look for a red dot or slash... anything drawn on the ticket by the first id checker/officer. i always get them. im traveling in pj pants, flip flops and a tshirt. no carry on, my buddy has on a hat, sun glasses and is carrying a back pack full of glass bongs, pipes etc... shit he had bought on vacation. it was all used, but thoroughly cleaned. the bag of chron on the other hand....lol anyhow. yeah so of course they search me, and wave him right through. the dude watching the xray screen actually gives my boy the "nod and smile" he then leans over to his coworker, points at the screen and they laugh.

Last time Wifey and I went overseas she got frisked nearly every time we got on a plane, usually with me laughing at her and pointing,
I suppose they figured I look to much like a criminal to be carrying anything naughty, so they should search my respectable looking travelling companion.

To get back on thread, you should never carry anything on a plane, domestic or otherwise. it's just too risky.
