I started the other thread "GUNS- Your Opinions". I admit, I left my guns within easy reach. But that bothers my wife since we have a 2 &1/2 year old. Ive been looking around for Gun Safes and the ones i found with "Fingerprint" locks were just big enough to hold a pistol but were costing about $300- 350 US. Today at Costco, my ole lady points out a safe for $229 and I tell her, NAHhhhhh, there the same price at Wallmart, HomeDepot, ect... when she point out and says, Do they have the fingerprint ones like you wanted ? and i said No. well, she gloats "this one does ". I immediately heaved it into the cart, barely, and away we went. This size is about 14"h X14" w X 14" deep. Much better than the "gun lockers". AND, I can get into it in about 4 seconds with code or fingerprint. Sooooo, my ole lady feels alot better now she says. Oh, and it is a "firesafe" Last edited by NORCAL REDNECK; 02-23-2009 at 03:26 PM..

![]() ![]() ![]() | Well, theres a gun in it for one. and the reason i purchased it was to put guns in it. So thats why i assumed it was good enough to be one. That is a nice steamroller, huh? Oh, those measurements were inside diameter.![]() Last edited by NORCAL REDNECK; 02-16-2009 at 02:04 AM..

Thanks, it was my grandfathers while he was a member of the Shasta Co. Sherriffs POSSE, and yes, early 1900's they were still on horseback. This pistol has "patent dates" imprinted on the barrel, last 1 being 1914, the year of production. S&W quit stamping patent dates in 1920, i believe. So, if you find one with dates stamped on it, grab it up. It is also stamped OTG. I thought is was officers training gun when i was younger. hey, ill google it and find out what it means. Ok, i figured out that the stamp actually reads CTG - cartridge, the C was just stamped extra deep. Belive it or not, i googled it and there was someone asking about the same identical pistol.
