So when you think about it, running your AC in the winter is NOT something everyone on the block will be doing....BUT everyone WILL be running there clothes dryers...which is what your ventilation exhaust would look like on FLIR...bigger heat signature than dryer yes I know, but still much less suspicious than a heat signature coming from a AC condenser in December!
Majority of the split system AC's are heat pumps so they often are running in the winter for heating the house as well...

When you have a 6000 watt grow you far surpass the max output of a single 4" dryer duct... You need a few 6 inch ducts or a couple 8 inch ducts.... or maybe a 12 inch duct.... none of which even remotely resemble a dryer output.

How can they tell the difference between a dryer vent, hot water heater vent, or an MJ vent.

It just seems like any house with a clothes dryer would have a hot vent.

Can't say I've ever heard of a vent for a hot water heater. As for the dryer/MJ vent, that's obvious. They don't operate at the same temperatures, and normal people don't have hot air spewing out of the dryer vent all day and night, either.

gas water heaters have vents - but they dont vent much heat and not for very long or often - depending on your hto water usage

hay GD

thanks for the input - always glad to hear from you

i know your gonna slam me for this cuz i already know how you feel about it

i considered venting my hoods only and running sealed room w/ a/c to take some load off the cooling expense but that seems to defeat the purpose of elimintaing the heat sig. and i still have to run the a/c

i may not ever go 6000 watts - just pondering the idea - im having so much fun with it, i might get carried away

6000 seems to increase your chances of getting caught considerably - reason i was thinking about it is cuz the penalty is the same up to a certain weight in my state so why not go to the max weight before the penalty goes up

maybe i will cut it down to 4000 watts - thats 1/3 less heat and 1/3 less electric and more than enough bud

my current set up im just putting together w/ 2000 watts in flower - my wheels are already turning to plan my next set up

pussy.......

lol why not vent to garage and put a fan that works by hot air escaping the garage

there for cooling garages

plus the pos pressure would just make it work faster

i plan on venting to my crawl then out my garage

12" vortex ftw

size of the vent, amount of heat coming out. thermal scanners see....get this. heat.

a 6000w grow puts out alot more btu's than a dryer. trust me, they know.

also dont put exhaust vents in weird places. like places on the house that would not normally have vents.

vent somewhere that isnt obvious, back of the house somewhere. use exisiting ducting/vents if you can.

my room is ducted out the old vent system that was in place for the kitchen range/oven hood. 6" vent right out the soffit...perfect!
