Granted, I didn't admit to the type of plants I was growing, but I'm interested in whether or not this "ona-bud" thing is just an old wive's tale.

I've got 2 brand new blocks right here that I was going to open up as soon as the plants wake up.
I've got just the one block, barley opened, outside my cabinet and it is eating the odor of my 3 girls. It doesn't seem to be affecting what's happening inside the cab.

I can see how a LOT of Ona could infuse your bud with its smell, but I'm starting to think you can mask the odor without giving your nugs the wrong kind of stink.

thisbudzforyou: Just curious, how big is the garden you're trying to mask?

My Ona Block is on top of my cabinet, right next to the exhaust. (I've got a light-proof vent mounted on back of cab -- using computer fans to blow exhaust out.)

I wonder if I'm having better luck because the block is only treating air coming out of the cabinet, rather than trying to treat the air inside the cabinet too...

It never made it to my growroom. The stuff simply wasn't strong enough to bother. I have had it sitting in my living room since the day i bought it. Couldn't smell it past a day or so of opening it unless ya put your nose right upto the stuff. Maybe I got a bad batch, I thought the stuff was shit, but I did only use it once...

It does come in handy as a incense holder tho lol

Harvey,
Ona Block is a product... Powerful and small, the ONA Block removes odors in small places
Hey TBFY,

I understood what Ona Gel was, thought when were stating "block" that it also came in a block form much like a disinfecting toilet disk

The other issue I have is that if I was to use that perhaps the scent would raise an eyebrow or two as well. Their sites states they have 3 scents: linen, polar crystal, and Pro. Anyone know what pro smells like. I myself would prefer something the kills the odor, not makes it into another odor.

That is helpful info

Apparently my experience with the product isn't the usual one. Seems like others must have been alot stronger. Mine was crap. As for the smell raising eyebrow, if you know what ONA smells like and what it is used for, it might. It does have a distinct odor. Mine was the "linen" kind. I suppose it sorta smells like laundry, tho I would never mistaken it for that...

Eh, I have since seen and smelled the power of the gel kind, I am going with that next. I am positive tht stuff will work for my needs....

I opened up my first Ona Block last night and it is the Pro scent. Maybe it's just because it was brand new, but it seemed that the stuff was working BIG TIME, right away. I initially removed the cap entirely, but it was too strong so I put the cap back on leaving just a small area open to the air. I will have to find that happy medium between overpowering and pleasant. First reports are great -- we'll see if it holds.

The odor is hard to describe, it's like a commercial disinfectant with maybe a hint of citrus. I don't love the smell, but it's common enough that it shouldn't be an obvious sign that you are hiding another scent. I really couldn't believe that I could go into my grow "room" and not smell any MJ (I'm well into flowering), but all I could smell was the ona.

I use it all the time.

This is what I do. I exhaust out of my grow box into the rest of the house (helps warm the place in the winter).

I find that placing the whole block in the exhaust ducting is too much. I take a spoon, carve a piece out and place it in a tiny bowl in my exhaust ductng.

This does two things; A) Helps keep the block longer as I take small chunks rather than the whole thing. B) Helps keep my house smelling like a urinal.
