ok i hear about these guys a lot. What states are the worst for police helicopters?? I only ask because personally (knock on wood) I don't think that I have ever seen one hovering around. And I've lived in 3 different states since the first year I ever herd about em. I do see life flights sometimes takin someone to the hospital that kinda look like it has cop colors. Maybe the reason is because all 3 places ive lived have been within like 5 miles of mid-sized local air strips?????? How do I be sure if its a police copter?? More important, are there any basic signs of when they are scanning as opposed to just en route somewhere???

And if they're hovering over your home you're most likely screwed already. Speaking for myself, if a police helicopter was hovering over my house I'd tear down my grow (but that's just me and I'm overly paranoid with my little 8-10 plants) Speculating some more, I'd guess that any state notorious for grow houses/ outdoor fields is fair game

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I have seen them in operation in Maryland, looking for outdoor grows in farmer's fields. I was visiting a friend out in the boonies, his house on a hill overlooking farms. leo copter flying around slowly, maybe 500 ft. up. Spent a good while cruizing slowly around all the farms. Mostly corn fields there, which are notorious for planting by geurilla grows. No idea if they found any but they didn't swoop in anywhere!

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | the choppers dont just fly around doing flir scans. you must have a warrant to scan a home. get binocs and look a the flir camera. if its panning as the chopper is flying you can bet your ass its scanning.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | so basically... they are either responding to a warrant for flir, or they are doing manual fly-by searches for outdoor grows??? so, if i live way out in the country, and see them flying above, get to rippin!!! could anybody answer to how long after they spot a grow does it take for police to show up (roughly)?? and if your plants were gone by then, could they still arrest you???

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | if they spot a patch from the air, chances are they arent leaving until the patch is ripped up. police choppers do alot more than fly around looking for dope. if you dont see choppers above your property usually, but now you see them coming by low and slow. yeah id start to worry a bit.....but you are probably already screwed by that point ![]()
