When it comes to growing I'm sure you know that you would rather protect your family from people finding out rather then dealing with people coming to your door and bringing even more attention to you if something is said about the smells etc.

i'm with Crazytrain. here's a little story kids...

a buddy of mine used to sell ALOT of ganja, all broken up and hidden in false tv's, walls, etc. well, one evening right around dusk he's just got back from the don and has a garbage bag full on the living room table that he's breaking down, some hippy kid is over buying a bag and he get's a knock on the front door so he gets up and goes see who is, opens the main door and there's a kid standing behind the screen door with a clipboard...the kid says that he's with a new community newspaper, it's free and would he please just sign his name saying that he would like to have it delivered.

WELL...he opens the door a crack to see wtf this paper is and out of the corner of his eye he sees another kid rounding the garage and the next thing he knows he has a 9mm in his gut and he's being told to get back in the house or there's going to be a huge mess...the two guys come in holding everybody at gunpoint, take the bag of pot, take their money, go into his bedroom and find another stash and then try to go into his roommate's room (it's locked), he says that there's nothing inside but they kick it in anyways to find...

a nasty pitbull on the other side pitbull gets one by the arm and the other one is pissing himself and swearing to shoot the dog if my buddy doesn't call down the dog. he calls the dog down and the two guys run out the front door to a waiting car (whom they had been talking via walky talkies) with the loot and a mangled forearm.

One thing that I learned from Never Get Raided DVDs is to never deal at your house, ever.
If you haven't seen them yet, go download them. The guy who makes them is this pothead, ex drug enforcement officer who believes weed should be legal. So he goes to all lengths to tell you how to avoid getting caught by the law and a lot of the methods they use to catch people.

they took the garbage bag filled with pot and at least 5,000 dollars that was stashed in his room. yeah, after that he went and rented out a studio apartment that was used only for business.

any dopeman who gets robbed like that obviously wasnt handling his business right. its easy to get comfortable and then get caught slippin.

IMO, its a good thing to be paranoid, better safe than sorry right??

p.s. - know many people whos dogs have been shot by police, if you love your pit bull, you better get his ass in check if the police are bustin in.

if you're selling QP's @ $1,100 and you made a conservative say seven deliveries that day then how much money do you have on your person? it was an inside job set up by another dealer in the area who was pissed about the competition and it was a very detailed heist orchestrated in collabo. yeah he should have been more careful but cali's crazy.

protection, that's what the dog was there for and i'm sure if it was leo they would have been informed, this was a little mexican gangbanger...que sera sera
