Me and my sister have been close for like..forever. She would have nowhere to go, she wants to be growing with me and learn about it. I can't really explain the bond we have(non sexual of course lol), you would have to have one similar to understand it. Plus she has all the connects of major potheads we have known since like childhood years. They wont be knowing we're growing but they are willing to get large amounts for cheap, and since we know them more the chance of getting owned/robbed greatly drops. I guess I will just have to see after 1 year to know for sure.

a grow tent...but they can only suport so much wieght. and 15 plants could fit under a 1000, or 10000 watts. that doesnt help much. unless your closet had a cloths hanger, youd need some way to mount the fans and lights.

I think it would be easier to get a loan for $20,000, get a cheap house and pay it back quickly.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I've done this a couple times. I grew in a rented apartment complex and a rented house. I would never grow in a rented apartment ever again. I would grow in a rented house though, but I'd have to make sure the landlord isn't living close by. In my last grow, (The epic fail) me and my 2 other roommates grew in a 4bedroom house, using the massive master bedroom as the growroom. We got away with it because the homeowners lived out of state and used a Century 21 Realtor as the landlord. We paid the bill on time every month, never late, and she never came by. She had a lot of stuff to do anyways than bother us and inspect us anyways. She (the century 21 landlord) told me that most hired landlords such as herself rarely do home inspections until after the tenant is moved out (like move out inspections for deposit). She only inspects rented houses that have a bunch of complaints by the neighbors, or doesn't pay their bill on time. Heed my words with extreme caution, do not grow with anyone, no partners, it becomes a mess. If you don't believe me, read my last grow journal, growing granada and og kush found in my sig. You will see and hear of yearlong problems I had while Co-Oping.

Greed will always get ya. Whether it be yours, or someone elses. Slanging draws attention from even the closest of comrads. Sometimes doing people a favor, sometimes leads to unwanted problems. Since you know them more, the chance of you getting robbed could just as well increase. Who's to say one of your "good friends" doesn't come up with a bright-eyed scheme one day? It sucks, but shit happens. If you and your sister, who are close, and want to bond thru growing-- do it for the love it. Don't get into any monetary goals, other than possibly saving you costs of purchasing your own. About growing with family: As much as it sucks, there is a reason why people dread family get togethers on holidays. That's because crazy shit happens, because family can be crazy. Unless you've already been thru the worst with your sister, seeing her true colors, etc... I might keep it to myself. ![]() Dr. Funkenstein

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Not everyone can afford to own -- especially in a state like California where the housing market is out of control expensive. I agree with what Kasper here says -- apartments are generally a bad idea -- no privacy and usually a lot more risks with company owned property etc. and them monitoring your electric bill. Growing in a rented house, however, can be fine in the right situation. Burndt -- you are absolutely right that it is a hassle to tear down and rebuild, dodge landlords, etc. etc. but it's really just a matter of finding a place that suits your needs with an ideal landlord. Once you FIND the place, then it's just as safe as if you own it, if not safer. In the ideal situation, renting SHOULD be like you own the place, with the landlord giving you privacy and 24 hour notice, as well as not trying to intrude on YOUR home, which it is if you are paying rent. If you're renting with a significant other or one or two trusted long time friends who know how to keep their mouths shut and pretty much steer clear of your whole operation, everything can work out A-OK. The good thing about living in a med state is it can be legal, which will qualm a lot of worries. Coupled with living in a hippie town, most of the landlords are relaxed folks who aren't going to bother you too much as long as you pay your rent on time. Of course the only real way to comfortably grow is to own your place, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do eh? As I've said numerous times around here though, finding that ideal living situation can be such a friggin headache. ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I rent an apartment, I just do a little cfl grow in the closet. the heat isnt too bad...i use only one turbo fan. already one grow under my belt here, one at another apt. my rule of thumb...make sure there are other potheads who smoke regularly in the building (Smell can be tough to pinpoint in a hallway, especially when theres college students around, just be wary of constant partiers) and keep the garden as far away from the front door and mechanicals as you can...the more doors between your plants and the maintenence folks the better. hide your cords and be very careful in the winter if its too cold to keep a window open. Be vigilant and one step ahead and youll stay that way.Know your rights as a renter *very important* remember a rental property is your home first and the landlords property second. Barring catastrophe, he/she will need at least 24 hours notice to enter or a warrant (just dont give em blatant probable cause, if your month to month pay your rent on time!). The bigger the managment company, that much less you will see the landlord...And if a catastrophic maintenence deal arises, be the first one to call ,know when and where and how they will handle it. be prepared and youll be better than fine! [edit] dont tell anyone!!!
