I have a a doctor recommendation for smoking/growing cannabis here in Colorado but my girlfriend who I'm about to get an apartment with doesn't. Is this a potentially dangerous legal situation for her in any way?

Any knowledge on this subject is greatly appreciated.

from what i understand about this is as long as she doesnt get busted for poss or dist. you should be able to live together kosherly. if she pops dirty at a job, thats a dif story considering jobs only see fed law, becuase they have to pay taxes and commply even if ur a med user and she doesnt smoke as long as she has pot in her system, they have the right to fire her. norml.org should have some other info.... good luck and congrats on the move in..... Interesting bit of math there. I would think you could get twice that out of 6 plants pretty easy. Hmmmm

The state has decriminalized also; meaning the first offense can be a misdemeanor. I think you're in like Flint! Oooops! I'm not that old!

Here in CO she is protected as long as she is not in posession of your medicine. UNLESS she is your caregiver.

Decrim here doesn' mean that. In fact up to a z is not even a misdemeanor here.

I would say, if you grow, grow in a closet/cabinet that maybe is ONLY elmutt's closet or cab. try not to grow in a communal area, I mean.
If you don't grow, why not? seems no WAY is it cheaper to buy from a dispensary or on the street than to grow your own....but I digress. Damn I almost hijacked MY OWN REPLY.

Anyway, if you merely posses it, same rules- try not to 'possess' it in her purse, maybe have a box labeled "elmutt's Medicine".

That way, should anyone ever ask, it is CLEARLY yours, not yours and hers.

you can DO that? The caregiver doesn't need a permit or training or some damn thing to grow your pot for you? what if you are a caretaker, can you posses the MJ too, like if you live apart, can a caretaker drive a couple ounces of MJ over to you? Is there a card for caregivers, like she gets busted, pulls out card, sez nope it's for elmutt, i'm his caregiver?

Yes in colorado, caregivers are allowed to grow, and posses the marijuana for the patients they are caregivers for, or get into the clubs even I do believe.

The colorado license, is just a piece of paper, one spot for the person needing the marijuana, and one place if you designate a caregiver, and then they also get a copy of your license with both names on it.

I did that years ago with a guy I just lived with and I did all the growing, but just so if he ever got stopped, he was ok to have it on him.

Also I'm in colorado, and my plant limit is 50 plants right now, there are stipulations to those laws if you use more than that stated law allows.
