The government, allow the states the rights apportioned to them in a constitution written by our wisest forefathers?

The real issue is the bloated federal government. Cannabis legalization is just a small part of the federal government way overstepping its boundaries. Well, maybe not a small part, considering the lobbies that need to keep it illegal and the kind of money that flows to politicians as a result. "Campaign contributions" my ass. Pharmaceutical, cotton, corn, alcohol, and tobacco lobbies are really in control of setting so many of our federal policies. None of those lobbies can benefit from legalization.

Hell, even the idea of taxing cannabis is unlikely because it's just so damn easy to grow it yourself. Why would someone with a back yard pay to purchase their buds when they can grow a couple plants a year and have more than enough?

I could ramble on but I won't.

I'm not one to stay to informed on the news, or claim 100% accuracy on current events, so I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.
I believe that the only raids against medical growops that have happened since Obama took office were stink bombs that Georgie Porgie had left behind for right after his exit. Other than that, the Att'y General has stated that his boss is the Pres and the Pres has said to leave 'em alone.
Are there other federal raids that have happened since January on legit legal grows? I'm beginning to feel, for the first time in my life that CropReport is right. It's coming, and the political sentiment is ripe.

I had an interesting conversation with my elderly mother recently. She's got Parkinson's Disease and spinal stenosis, which causes her a lot of pain in her lower back and legs. She's been looking for ways to alleviate her pain and recently watched a TV program about medical MJ and it seemed to intrigue her. She's always been very straight--not a smoker, very light casual drinker, no drugs, etc...--so I was quite surprised when she started talking about it. I didn't offer anything other than my opinion but I'll definitely keep my ears open if she makes any more references or inquiries. A natural product that requires no processing to be used...if it can alleviate any of her discomfort I just can't see how it's a bad thing.

Daddy- O, I have seen this before in other people, and what worked for me is getting them some tincture of MJ, the stuff they can put under their tongue. Seems like it is easier for a non-smoker to get used to "medicine" you use an eyedropper for, not a bong. Just a thought.

Poppa Seed, I figure those last few raids were the aftershocks.....he told D.E.A. (in their view) they could not do the job they were chartered for... One of the sched. I items is THC, DEA number 7370 .

What do you expect? here is an agency that is dedicated to policing drugs, and they are chartered to do so. New President, suddenly they are impotent in some areas? Of course there will be a struggle, no agency will ever willingly partially disband.
So far, all is quiet.... but you never know, betcha 10-to-1 they are gathering data, just in case.....
