I was planning which shops I might check out and started thinking about all the possibilities, and began to get cold feet. So I was wondering what people thought about using a Prepaid Debit card to order online, to cut out the possibilities of walking into any stake-outs.

This, it seems, would also eliminate any paper trails. The only thing that would concern me is if, in worst case scenerio, LEO ever decided to dig up any of the name brand shipping companies records, to see what my shipment history looked like. That would direct them back to the "OnLine Hydro Shop".

I've noticed some of the items that these online shops carry, cannot be delivered thru any of these name brand shipping companies, and special arrangements would need to be made for delivery, e.g. their particular service, or your own truck. I also still don't know how secure I feel in ordering anything like this to my home, which the grow will be located in. I've heard many times that is a rule that shouldn't be broken.


What do you guys think?

There's nothing illegal about making a purchase at a grow shop.

Go in with cash is all. Don't leave your name. And, if you're really that paranoid about walking in the door and being tailed on the way out...borrow a car from someone who doesn't grow.

I can't speak to where you live...I though live in seriously unfriendly area...doesn't stop me from hitting the shop 2-3 times a month though.

Simon Mall's malls, and or most convenience stores sell prepaid cards. Put on a hat & sunglasses...pay for it with cash. Recharge it with cash as well.

i use my regular bank account debit card (i'll never get another "credit" card) when ordering beans. just don't have anything mailed to the grow location. i've ordered from many places and never had a problem.

dont be so paranoid...walking around in hat and sunglasses looks suspicious as fuck.

we used to laugh at the retards that came in the hydro shops wearing wigs and glasses, and other ridiculous outfits. its like saying "hey, look at me im doing something illegal"

the point of being low key is to look like everyone else, not make yourself stick out like a sore thumb.

walk into a store, never look up. its that easy. keep your eyes fixed on a spot on the floor 3 feet in front of you and the cameras can never see your face.

gardening both indoors and out is a huge business, dont act suspicious and no one will think twice about it... by the time the man is looking at your credit card statements you are ALREADY fucked.

law enforcement generally finds the person, then works backwards to form a chain of evidence. contrary to popular belief, they dont read every credit transaction ever and go HOLY SHIT a grow light was purchased, we better go arrest that guy!!

I walk right in my local store. No worries.

LEO has almost unlimited funds. If he is out to get you, you could be already caught.

Don't live in fear, just be cautious.

pay in cash if you like and don't mention anything about growing mj.

Discount-hydro.com is a nice online place I have done business with for years.

I've used prepaid Wal-Mart debit cards to order equipment, and I would do it again. It's a secure way to buy online.

using any debit card is completely traceable...if they really want you.

like pesci said, be cautious not paranoid.

if the cops decide you are the one they want, theres really nothing you can do about it.

just be a calm, low key typical customer of a typical store doing business and nobody will bat an eyelash.

these big stores like discount-hydro are processing so many orders, they dont have time to worry about you. esp in a mj state like cali, they could care less who is doing what. they just want to sell shit and make money...

grow gear is pefectly legal to own, its your own guilty consciouses that you need to get in check, that could cause you some real trouble in a high stress situation like actually being busted/hassled by the man.

I concur with Luke and Pesci. They aren't watching your bank account, so don't sweat buying legal stuff from online. Personally I avoid hydro shops because you never know when LEO might profile you (namely, I'm a bit young looking to be investing in expensive hydro equipment, not everyone has this problem.). The only thing I'd worry about is getting a prepaid card to buy the seeds, because if customs ever decides to start busting people for seeds we aren't going to get a warning in advance. They can't pin anything on you for having seeds show up at your house; it could just be a prank or wrong address. If they decide to investigate though, they might spot a seedbank on your bank account and nail you. Without proof on your statement that you bought the seeds, they got nothin'.
