Cool BEST THING FOR ODOR!
permalink

I have been using WellnessLight Kids lights which I bought in Canada - a special TiO2 light that is used in hospitals for children's allergies. The light works awesome with keeping the odor down and the light seems to be a great benefit for the growth of the plants. Hey, not everything is designed for it's "excact" purpose Just a suggestion

I heard those odor reducing lights actually clear the air, but produce a sticky, stinky film on the walls AND everything else the air comes into contact with. Have you noticed anything like this?

I have been looking into these lights as well...

I have also heard about the residue they leave behind... But I have my fan mounted in a storage tote so that the air circulates around inside the tote around my ONA jars ... it would be nice to be able to USE that light tho!

"Air Ionizer
light bulb
Posted by Funkyguy on April 7, 2008 11:39 AM

This is one for the greenies, alight bulb that throws out not just light but also ionises the air while its at it. Air ionising is popularly used by air filters to scrub clear the air of odours or scents.

Air ionisers work by emitting powerful ions that attach to the pollutants in the air and forcing the bad smelling pollutants to drop to the ground thus ridding the air of the odour.

I think I may just use this device for an entirely different purpose. Some of the guys here at office tend to go a bit too heavy on their perfumes, something that I am allergic to. Since they have obviously decided to ignore my subtle hints, I think I am just going to come to office early tomorrow and replace all the bulbs with these.

Each bulb costs 15$ and yes, its a CFL
of course."

I found it on Amazon.com

I found it on Amazon.com for $39.95 for two, but on their own website WellnessLightKids.com- Cleaner, Clearer Light for your Kids it is $10 cheaper! I used an ionizer before, affects the plant growth due to the ozone released Alway sglad to help out!

Dr. Funk ... The ionic lights send out ozone and neg ions. That might be the film you're talking about. I have been using the Wellness light with no issues. Hope it helps!

This makes it even more interesting

I started to do a little research since my first post. The WelnessLight Kid uses a substance called TiO2 not ozone/ionic to kill odor. The plus, looks like it promotes plant growth. I have a perfect room that could use some new lighting! ha,ha This is a simple, but good read - The improvement of spinach growth by nano-anatase ...[Biol Trace Elem Res. 2007] - PubMed Result

Hey all,
So, if it's not apparant, I am a newb getting ready to start my first grow, so excuze me if I seem kinda 'green'

Anyway, I am looking for ways to reduce odor in the GrowLab box I will be growing in, and if I get this Wellness Light, would I actually put it inside with my grow lights? Should it be on a timer to turn off when the other lights do? Should I use more than one?

Thanks for the advise!
