![]() | Under the ground? OK. Basicly you can grow anywhere that you can provide the plant with the things it needs. Some places require more than others, but you should be able to do it anywhere. Light Air Water. If you can provide them, you can grow. Underground, you would need a good water proof light, real good air curculation, and you would want to control the water so you wouldn't want to grow in the ground. You would want to keep the plants in pots. you would also need a real big space to grow, that may be hard to find. (enough room for your plant, equipment and you to get in) you could do it in a cave, but how would you provide power? Do you plan to do this in your yard? It seems like underground would not be an ideal spot to grow, but if you are able to do it I see no reason why it coulden't be done. mr g ![]()

![]() | A problem with growing underground is the temperature. It may be too cold. Heaters can be used but are generally inefficient. Its more important when the plants are small to provide heat, to start them indoors first. Other than that i can't think of anything else.

| Up in my part of the world, some folks got busted while growing under ground. They actually buried a trailer (not sure how big) and were growing in there. I'm not sure how they got caught (Probably selling)but I can think of a dozen ways they could have given themselves away. Not too surprisingly, I can also think of a dozen reasons why a basement is a much better place to grow if you want to grow underground. There are five senses that one needs to account for when considering security. The most important is sight. If you are using HID's then you will need to account for the fact that your underground grow sticks out like a sore thumb to an infrared detector. There are other options with regard to controlling the heat of your lights. (see the discussion of water cooled lights in "lighting") A basement has the advantage of having a house over it which interferes with infrared detection. If people see you going to or from this sight you will arouse suspicion. No one sees you entering and exiting your basement. I am trying to imagine the best possible place for the kind of grow you suggest, and the difficulties, though not insurmountable, are significant enough to make me never want to try it. But give it a shot if you think you can. Make security your first question. Think and rethink your plans and actions. And by all means, consult the many counselors on this sight. Boo | ||
