I have a question for GW...I live in washington state and this question about my friend...well he has liver cancer and has a grow permit from his doctor.We were goming home from the store and saw these three guys in suits snooping around his property and looking in the house.We asked them to leave or we'll call the cops and they said they were feds and were leaving anyways.Then the day after, we were being followed around town.(by we think the same guys) Can he get in busted by the feds because its a federal crime to cultivate marijuana? Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, currently there is a divergence between states that permit medicinal use of pot and the federal government. It is still a federal felony to cultivate marijuana. Pot is still listed as a Schedule I drug, meaning it has no medicinal uses and is prone to abuse.

Generally, the "feds" aren't gonna be interested unless it is a "big" grow, usually over 100 plants, or the grower is some kinda political activist and the feds are trying to make a point.
