Question

was thinking of growing in the attic, insulated with polystyrene and venting through the chimney breast to avoid smell and heat detection from above. heard or read somwhere that the flying pigs can distinguish between a line of vented heat and the usual heat escape from fires. anybody have any tips please? ta.

aww f-uck, i wrote a long message and it clicked something and it went away, so ill try to sum it up. grow in your attic if it is winter and you have a furnace in it, otherwise it may be stupid. a furnace is the excuse for heat escaping through the roof and it is winter so you are using your furnace. Also, dont have any openings for animals to crawl in, that excess heat in the wintercan attract animals to live there, and the scent of the hemp will also attract them. Trust me you dont dont want and oppossum up there munching on your precious plant, and you wont be able to do anything about it, and if you try to the oppossum will see you before you see it, and will crawl over close to you, jump on your head and eat your face off and have a nice lunch. well maybe not that brutal but it would kick your ass because it can see in the dark, and has many razor sharp teeth, you will recognise one because it is the ugliest animal you have ever seen and it has a long tail and hangs upside down. well i tried to make it as close to the origional as possible. good luck to ya,

-sir_tokes_a_lot

ps: the cops can see if heat is coming out of your chimney just keep your lights next to your furnace and keep good ventilation

cheers sir, fortunatly living in the uk i dont think i`ll be seeing any opposums?! bats are prob the nearest danger, they too can get tangled in your hair, but as in gonna go for a haircut to look like mr civillian before i begin hopefully it will be ok. we have a open fire that will be vented through the other chimey pot so hopefully that may help distract mr plod away from the heat source too. thanks again

I don't think I can laugh anymore, fierce face eating possiums!!!! I think you might have toked toooo much. I have lived in the country all of my life and have never expierenced the fierce face eating possium maybe, Big Foot scared them off! Ha Ha True they can see in the dark but they usually avoid being seen. anyway. Best of luck to you Leaf in your growing in attic. Keep us posted as to how things turn out. Watch out for the face eating possiums Ha Ha Best wishes, Grow Safe

Hey Supergreen.
Just getting going, the attics all fenced off and oppossum free, although i took my cat xavier up there the other day and theres one or two nasty fleas about as a result. Growing in the attic was my only space option and the heli threat was a worry, especially as i had a close encounter a few weeks ago, getting a high power fan to blow on the bulb and a good extractor for when the hps kicks in.
keep green

That helicopter problem seems to bug a lot of people. I"m wondering if theres any kind of insulation or material that you can put around your growspace to keep the heat from being detected? If all else fails, use a system that was discussed in another post. Set up an automatic turret, and buy some Russian C300 surface to missile (SAM) sites. That way when the helicopters roll around youll be ready for 'em lol

Burn candles and put towels behind the door. Or you could open the window...

Hey SuperG.
Thats such a lovely idea, as the people driving the things would surely do the same to us narcotic producing felons if they could ;~) Leaf
