![]() ![]() | Recently i have done some reaserch on the authority or power of a warrant to search your home - Im sure there is alot of people in the same situation as me that would like to be informed as to the status of their security.. The main topic i am focusing on here is: Does a Warrant permit the police/dea/etc to search outside your home - For example - John Doe is growing in a shed 20metres from his house that he ownes - They knock on his door with a Warrant to search his house.. Can they proceed to his shed OR does this require its own Warrant? (I dont think this has been covered yet - and if so.. not extensively) Alot of people get 'done' by LEO because they have a complete lack or very limited knowledge to their rights - Im hoping this will clear up alot of bad 'clouds' of information floating around.. So informed information or just what you know people -

![]() | Yea, usually if they can get a warrant, they've pretty much got you. Thus they specify where they are looking. Another thing is, say they are looking for a grow operation in your house. They can't search your drawers. You can't fit a grow in a drawer. Say they are looking for stolen tv's or something (just an example) they can't look in say a medicine cabinet. But...anything they can see thats illegal can be taken and you can be charged.

Usually when police are given a search warrent it states clearly that they have permission to search the WHOLE property. Including the Shed Outside. They actually get a search warrent to search the land and any building on that piece of land. To the FULL extent. Meaning your drawers and such. Like some1 said if they get a search warrant to search for a grow room they arent gonna search your drawers. LOL think again. They are gonna wanna search for any pot you may have around including in your drawers.

![]() ![]() | Thanks for the feedback people: Thats what i thought too - But ive read cases where a Warrant has been presented - They searched the house and found nothing - Proceeded to 'outside' constructions and found Marijuana growing or some other illegal activity - Then in court the judge found that the warrant didnt have authority to search other than the main premise and the case was thrown out .. Also - What if somebody else lived in that 'shed' or outside construction - ?
