Last week I won a bid on ebay for 2 lamps and other misc. grow items. Yeah! But upon talking to the seller I had to give shipping info. and stupidly gave my real address and name but said I wanted to do a will call at the UPS because I live in a pretty remote area. any way, I've done this before and usually the seller gets right back to you with prices of shipping etc. I'm a little nervous as this seller seems to be in no hurry, e-mailed and said he would get back to me by the end of the week and I still haven't heard anything from him. Seems strange to me and the fact that he only lives about 2 hours from here makes me worry. I hope I'm not being set up to be busted. A sheriff turned down my dirt road yesterday and damm near gave me a heart attack. I ran to the back of the house and unplugged everything but he (thank God) never came to the door so I guess he was just turning around or something. I hope this isn't a cop I'm buying lamps from. Oh my!

I'm really kinda worried, I still haven't heard from this seller. Has anyone ever heard of anyone getting busted from a E-bay sale? This is so strange. Hope this fool doesn't come rob me or set me up to be busted.

what kind of feedback rating did the seller have? i wont buy anything on ebay unless the seller has alot of good feedback, not only because your more likely to get good service and good products but if they do alot of business then they more than likely arent trying to bust people, just trying to make some money.

anyway i have dealt with people on ebay that never seem in a hurry to get you the stuff you bought so dont worry too much.

I wouldn't be so worried now...

you haven't even got the lamps to grow yet (theoretically)....
so even if a cop did show up, you (in theory) wouldn't even have a grow going yet. so there would be nothing to bust.

it would be more likely in 2 months or so that they would check you out. but again, this seems like a long shot. they would have to guess when you plan to grow, so they can catch you red-handed.

JUST REMEMBER! unless they have a warrant, there's no reason you have to let mr. nice friendly officer into the house (or even onto your property). That means if you have any worries, turn them away. by the time they come back, all you have are some lights and what not, but nothing illegal. always dump a crop to save you neck!

Ebay is safe as the sky is blue (its still blue right?). Be patient, your goods will come. Lamps and growing equipment are completely legal. Even if you bought lights from the Chief of Police in Drugbustville, there isn't a thing they could do to you. Be safe, and don't forget to leave positive feedback on Ebay. --

Thanks all, I feel a little better. you would just think this guy would contact me about shipping prices etc. as it's been a little over a week now. I can't decide weather to contact him at this point or just let the whole thing go. Got a pretty good price on a 400 HPS with a 250MH and it said other misc. grow items fans and such as the pic showed. I was really excited about this at first and now I'm paranoid. Sellers feedback was pretty good as I did check that out. What a shame that this hobby of ours, a simple plant, is illegal. Thanks again!

I E-mailed the seller yesterday and asked what was up. He said it's a very large, heavy package and he has a small car so having trouble getting it to the mail place. Will get back to me in a couple of days. I guess everything is all good. I hope! I want my lamps!

Hi all. I just wanted to thank you for your reassurance on this issue and let ya know it all worked out and I was paranoid about nothin. The seller finally got ahold of me with shipping prices and said since it was so expensive to ship and I live only 2 hours away, that I could pick it up if I wanted to. I think I'm gonna do that since I want my lamps like yesterday. Thanks again!

Sniff-sniff.Somebody frying fish in here?Cuz I smell somethin.OK,if I were selling on Ebay Id either stipulate that the buyer pay S&H or Id already have the cost factored into what Id take as the lowest bid.Maybe its a paranoid stretch that this guy set out planning to knock the buyer in the head & rob him when he had to show up to pick up.But maybe when he realised that you live near by & would be willing to pick up, now hes made such evil plans.Id bring or at least,umm,'carry' back up.And pick a well populated,very public area to do the exchange,durring the day.
