Thumbs up a perplexing smell!!!

it smells like reefer!!

ok heres what I got, I have 5 plants(random cronic bag seed) total. 2 are about 1 ft. - 1 1/12 ft. tall the others are about 6in. I have them growing in my closet.
and already my girls are stikin up my room.

so when I flower I think im gonna have a smelly problem, and I live in a aptment. so basically I need to eliminate the smell cheaply and eficently as possible.

I've searched a quit a bit and this is what I have found, looks like I have 3 (decent) options:

Ionizers- price efficent, work ok but dont completly get rid of the smell if its potent.

ozone- work very well, but can be costly and hazardous to health.

carbon filters- work well but are big and costly.

so it looks like maybe I should go with an ionizer or a carbon filter. or maybe even make a carbon filter out of a bucket, fan, ONA, moistures crystals and so on.

any info on personal experiece or sugestions for my situation that work the best would help a ton!

Since you've got a small number of plants, try this first. If it doesn't work, you can always go the more expensive route.

Go to Petco and visit the section where they keep the cleaning supplies for when Rover pees on the floor. They have some little tubs of odor abatement stuff, like you see in public restrooms sometimes. They come in fruity scents, but you can order unscented ones online. Hydro stores also carry them sometimes.

Just get one of these for $5-$10, open it, and put it in with your plants. It doesn't mask the smell ... it kills it. You'll get the scent of the deoderant, but it's not bad. Youmight have to buy a new one in a few weeks.

And if that doesn't work, well, you can always spend more.

ok amish i might try that

I went to home depot the other day and saw an air filter with a activated carbon filter in it for like 40 bucks, would some thing like that kill the odor of my plants?

Probably would, I'm guessing, since you have such a small number of plants. Can't hurt, other than the price.

If they're already smelling that bad now, then yeah, it's gonna get a LOT worse. It may just take trial and error to find a combination of odor-killing options that will work for you.

hmmm trial and error that might not work.
you see the people in the apartment above me have already

complained about smoke, they are semi down with marijuana but
I dont wanna risk letting them smell anything again.

so will the smell of my babies penetrate to the apartment above like smoke?

or will it be mostly confied to my apartment?

Wow, I don't know, I'd never have the guts to grow in an apartment. But if the smell of smoke can reach them, it's probably safe to assume that any other smell can too.

Honestly, I'd be afraid to try it. That's a little too risky in my book, but of course it's your decision. Good luck.

ya for sure im definatly not going to do another grow most likely.

its just too sketch but I've invested soo much time already it'd be a shame to kill em. but I think that it will be ok as long as I can mask the smell. but after this im done till I move out!
