odors ever conspicious outside?
permalink

Hello, all...I'm a novice working in southern sunshine No mention of odor control outside? Does odor become diffused by wind as flora matures toward Halloween harvest treat? Are there aromatic plants/weeds that can be intercropped or do we just say, "Darn skunks are in heat-heh, heh!!" Can you get a contact high being downwind? Any comments welcome.

now I just vent directly out down the sewer pipe with a constant fresh air intake .

the constant venting removes the smell and it also creates a negative pressure in the room.

so far so good

Ozone for me...

just through a vent 5 feet high on the side of the house. I also vent my ac in the room through a different side vent 2 feet high. Thats why the 12 hours of light have to be at night because the ac water excange pump shoots water out a 1/4 inch line coming out of that vent too. That would surely attract attention during the daylight hours. I live in a cul de sac...

I am currently researching every aspect of air purification the www has available.I bought a "Breeze AT" over the internet before I started doing my research bad move!Good new is the guy said box it up and send it back(no charge)cept the shipping!I am buying a neg.ion circuit board(new $15) and building my own neg.ion generator, but I will always have fresh air coming into my (pit) and will definately have a combination of different types of filters (inline) to an exaust unit in the attic. I have 5 seedlings,so there will be 5 mothers, and many daughters come

When my research is completed,I will post my findings in a nice, easy to read guide called " How to Hide a Skunk" look for it soon on the shelves in Cancun b.s.

Lots of fresh air

I use a fairly powerful exhaust fan and that seems to take care of the heat and smell.

This thread was a good idea, lots of information.

Thanks for the thread,

I made a carbon scrubber, but never needed to use it. I exhaust my box up into the attic, where it flows out the vents. I only grow in the winter, so its not an issue - no one around to smell it.. Ive never smelled anything outside, or in, unless its harvest time, of course...

Here is the set up.

My friend has a small 2 stage room at her business (its a greenhouse ). She has 2 3x3x8 "storage" boxes in a corner against the wall in a little used room. These are, of course the veg and flowering rooms.

From the flowering "room" she runs dryer vent right into the air conditioner duct and then into an even less used storage building right next door. She has a 4 inch fan in the room at the beginning of the dryer vent and an 8 inch fan blowing into a 3 x 3 x 2 box in the little used room. The top of the box has a cheap activated charcoal filter and it is far from airtight...

So, sitting on top of the filter sits a weak (30 mg/hour) Ozone generator.

When you go in the room w/o the O3 generator turned off, there is a definite smell of fresh blueberry

With the Ozone Generator turned at the lowest level there is just a hint of fresh fruit in the air. turn it up just a tad more and there is not even a hint of odor. She is going to try Jack herrer and Skunk next time.
