i came up with this idea while sittin on the comp. i've never grown before and im just reading the site and learning A LOT but you could have your grow space somewhat airtight and have a fan that sucks out the air cut into the grow box and it could somehow funnel down to a tube/hose and you could lead it out a window or somethin. i would imagine that would help the smell greatly indoors. there are most likely drawbacks, but thats just an idea i conjured up. h-erb

![]() | I built a 7ft tall box in the garage 4ft wide 3ft deep. It has a shelf made of 2x4 and screen mesh 19 in from the floor. under the shelf is a small space heater and air intake vent w/ a forced air micron filter over the vent (to filter fresh air coming into the box). I have a 400w hps on top and two 2tube flourosgoing down the sides each end to give a little side lighting. a small fan inside on timer to circulate the air inside the box and an exhaust fan next to the light on top. I use rockwool drip unit with 8 plant stations and usually end up w/ 4-6 females (skunk #1) to flower. I always grow from seed (idoit w/ cloning so far). I've used this set up for 6 years now, works excellently, fills 12 mason jars & I grow 1x per year. A mason jar a month is more than enough for my use. As far as smell i just put a fresh dryer sheet over the exhaust port on top of the unit. Change it every other day the last 2-3 weeks of flower, as needed before that. After that a popourri spray inside the house 1-2 times a day and wifey burns candles regularly so I think this helps some too but she's done that longer than I've been growing so it's not something we do to mask the odor really ![]()

Have you ever thought of growing a couple of tomato plants? Tomato plants are extremely pungent and cover just about any odor. Also, Marigolds grow real well in cramped spaces. Not only are they smelly but they are natural insect repellents. ![]()

![]() | Hey, I've never grown before (I didn't even start smokin' till about November 2003) but I plan on growing in my apartment (when I get it in the next 6 months). Now, I don't have alot of money, and when I first get my apartment I'll have even less, so my only options are gonna be baking soda and a fan that blows air into a cardboard box full of charcoal (or something like that). So, keeping in mind my low income, and that I only want to grow one plant, what would be the best cheap, makeshift method to use? Also, Since I'm a new user, I'm not really concerned with high quality/potency yet, so it doesn't really matter what breed I choose (not alot anyway). Considering that, what is the least skunky strain available? Or at least the least skunky medium quality/potency strain etc? I'd really appreciate any help here, as I need to make a plan in the next one or two months.
