![]() | I was looking for some advice on the best states to set up an indoor grow. I would like to move in the next six months and would be looking for a state with compassionate or lax cultivation laws, reasonable housing costs, and a good IT job market. (In that order). I have looked at NORML's site, but the lack of specificity and timeliness concerns me. Also I have found other sites that state different laws than which is stated in on the NORML site. Also, when do the federal laws concerning cultivation come into effect, or are they always in addition to local laws. For a quick side question, does anyone know if it is possible to buy a device to take thermal images of your own house for a somewhat reasonable price (<1,000). Thanks in advance for any comments, suggestions, or resources.

I don't have a whole lot of info for ya, but I do have a suggestion....using an offensive handle will detour people from helping you out...perhaps you might want to change it and you'll have better results ![]() Just my $.02 ![]() mr g ![]()

![]() | Sorry about the screen name, I had just gotten a BS speeding ticket (29 in a 25) and the cop gave me a bunch of ****e for driving recklessly in a neighborhood, then he tacked on another for not having a light over my license plate. I'll change it (Is Mr. Happy taken?). I've been doing quite a bit of research and I've narrowed it down to NM, FL, and CA. (MI and WY also look good, but I'm sick of snow). If anyone knows anyone has any stories about these states, that'd be very cool. Also, I've seen a couple of books on the different marijuana laws, does anyone have any experience with these?

![]() | Mendecino County in California is pretty lax on cultivation. The County Sheriffs department, doesn't bother modest farms of 25 plants or less. However, it wouldn't be recommended to flaunt it. If they happen upon it, they may bust you, but they don't go looking for it. Hope that helps you.

![]() | Thanks growerwannaB, Mendocino County is definitely under consideration after the last election, although it looks like the Feds don't seem to care about the voices of the people who actually live in that area. Guess that's the difference between a true democracy and a representative democracy. It's amazing how little publicity the whole issue has gotten. On a very small scale, is the issue of hemp/marijuana cultivation, but on a larger scale is the issue of the power of the state vs. the federal government. I guess for anyone in my position you better to be ready to pay the consequences. Its just a measure of the tradeoffs. How often do the choppers fly over your house, how active does the DEA go after the electric company's database, and what price you have to pay if you're caught. By the way, wouldn't the privatization the California power situation mean that the government would need a search warrant to gain access to one's records.
