newbie needs indoor/outdoor security risk info

Ok,a little about my situation.First I dont need help on growing/nutri/lighting,etc..thats really easily available on the web.
(unsure what power outlets I need for the veg and flowering lights though(I forget their names) I AM USA CITIZEN SO CRAP!

I live in a small town outside a small city.Got some neighbors not jam packed, tons of yardage and ungodly amounts of trees and deep forests.
I wanna try growing some pot because I am spending almost all my money buying it! Ill talk about 2 things my indoor situation and my outdoor situation
Not any local airports(3 hr.drive) so maybe thats a plus for gov.heli's. Small-time police force.

Indoor-Large house, great privacy.Owned.Brick.I mean not a mansion, but very large. My problems wont be getting caught by somebody in the house, plan to plant 4 in my closet, its well ventilated+smell I can counter

Outdoor-Woods,some hunters,so if I choose outside I will go deep into it to my fav.place a small section of tall thin trees(looks sorta like bamboo or something) its very elusive and kinda-maze like. Temperate climate.

Now my concerns:

My #1 concern is Heat seeking helicopters.I just dont understand it at all.I mean how the hell can it pick up 3 or 4 plants?I mean I wont be planting a field of it,just 3 or 4. Are they regularly patroling? How can you counter this?I mean how the hell can it tell the difference between good crop and a regular houseplant?

I need as much info on #1 as possible!

#2-so many seedbanks.I prefer one that ships to usa and is very discreet and preferably accepts paypal. Plus I am kinda paranoid so I wonder if the feds have a few on watch,I like to know which ones I should trust and which ones are stay far far away from.

If you can please help me with these.Much appreciated

THis should probably be int he security forum, but that's is up to the moderators.

Question One. Were I you, I would forget the outdoor grow, if you got hunters in the area sooner or later your plants will be seen.

If you are concerned about the 'heat seeking helicopter finding an outdoor grow I can tell you it is done visually. If you are concerned about infrared equippedvhelicopters finding an indoor grow in your closet, don't worry about it. A closet full of plants and lights isn't much of a heat signature. The way LEO can tell marijuana from the air is it's signature color. Marijuana has a very distince color and is usually found (when looking from above) in a small clearing in the canopy which helps to set off it's distinctive color.

Question Two. World Wide Seeds is our site sponsor. They have a great reputation and lots of fantastic genetics to choose from. There is also Seeds Direct. Another good one is HEMCY.

The thing that gets most people into trouble is talking about their grow or behaviour that makes them stand out. Be cautious in what you do and say nothing.

Best O' Luck.

Just a quick insight to the hunters. I'm not sure where you live or what your seasons are. In my area MOST hunting seasons don't start until the end of september. Now I'm not sure about coon hunting, never done it. But it's at night and I don't think unless you have them in buckets above ground they'll even notice......

Good luck...

Welcome and get ready for a great time of ups and downs. Sounds like you have a lot of places to experiment. Why put all your eggs in one basket? In your situation I'd try planting twon plant in several lovcations. It'll be fun to see the various ways the'll develop. Your indoors plants with one type of bud, your outdoors plants with several more varieties...whew!
have fun and keep reading...3 grows and 24 plants later you'll under stand what I meant about the great times of ups and downs. The main thing is patience...don't harvest too soon, thinking yoou got the big buds, because two weeks later and you would have had the REAL BIG BUDS ..anyways, happy growing.

there is ALOT of federal(military) and state (state forest)land and the local paper usually has reports of hundreds of plants per year ripped up by LEO.
so, i am assuming they do quite a bit of flying and looking around here.

Statistically speaking, an outdoor grow is much more likely to get busted than an indoor grow. But not every outdoor grow leads to an arrest, because a lot of times LEO just rips up the plants and doesn't wait around to arrest the grower. If you want some info on statistics, check out the little risk report I worked up (sig line). If you want to grow indoors, I doubt that a 4 plant closet grow would even show up in a FLIR search. Heating & hot water risers are often buried in closet walls.

Besides, LEO is looking for whole houses that are lit up. As S2 said, they would need to be on to you already to get the warrant and for a small grow like that they would probably wouldn't bother with FLIR they'd just bust in your door and drag you off to jail. If you don't sell (rule #1) and don't tell (rule #2), your chances of getting busted are statistically marginal.

I ordered from both WWS and Seeds Direct. My WWS took forever to arrive (5 weeks) but the stealth was incredible. Seeds Direct showed up in 10 days. The stealth was nothing to write home about but the package did arrive and was not tampered with.

From what you wrote, though it sounds like not everyone in your household is going to be in on the grow. Although this is not bad in it's own right (see rule #2), if you're growing in someone else's house it's possible that your grow could subject them and anyone else living there to arrest, seizure of property, and a criminal conviction. Even if they claim ignorance of the grow, a creative DA could paint a different story to a jury. I'm not trying to prosthelize here, but if someone was growing in my house without me knowing it I would be completely bullsh!t.

Just some food for thought.....
