Heres a few security tips that Ive learned through the years that may be helpful.Im not a lawyer but have been arrested for growing before and these are the things Ive learned.Laws will vary.

When tearing down a grow room because of being discovered,ratted out or whatever,get rid of the green first.All leaves,stems,trimmings and dont forget your seed collection.As soon as youve collected all of this get it out.Dont worry about the equipment,Having equipment is in itself not illegal and if theres no evidence of marijuana then they have nothing.If you were to wait until the entire grow were torn down,they may show up in the middle and you could have gotten rid of the weed by then.Be very thourough as any amount of leaf could get you in trouble.

When getting rid of trimmings and leaves after harvest,be sure you have nothing but trimmings in the bag.I have two bags.One for leaf material and one for grow related garbage that I dont want to throw into my house trash.If you were to mix the two(leaf material and grow related garbage)the police can get you for possesion and growing.If you only have leaves its just possession.Take the leaf material bags and grow related garbage on different days.Never together.

Another thing to keep in mind is that police cant use moldy leaves as evidence.Also,if it wont dry,they wont be able to use it either.When I was busted they were unable to dry a portion of their catch and asked if we had soaked it in oil.They were unable to use it.What it was is that it was all mushy and moldy from sitting so long.So,a good idea is to wait awhile for the leaves to become moldy and mushy and then transport it.Another option might be to pour some oil into the bag as a precaution.

This is definately a good tip - here's another reason why:

If police were to find (near your location or far away, doesn't matter) a bag of trimmings with nothing else in it, or a bag of grow room garbage (nutrient containers, old soil, receipts for supplies, etc.) and no trimmings in it, they really couldn't do a thing with either. However, were they to find a bag with both marijuana trimmings and growroom garbage (especially identifying garbage like receipts, or mail) they could easily link you to the marijuana, and likely obtain a serach warrant.

This isn't necessarily true - if they found your setup, a crafty prosecutor could charge you with conspiracy to cultivate. It might not stick in court but it could, esp. if there is corroborating evidence, like electricity bills, cc receipts with grow-related purchases, past history of drug possession/cultivation arrest. It would be circumstantial but would not bode well. Of course get the leaf out first but the entire room should come down if there's a suspicion of rat.

Also, a leaf is a leaf whether it's moldy or not. If it can be ID'd they will charge you with something. It may not be cultivation, but it could be conspiracy which is nearly as bad.

I always wait until the night before the garbage is picked up and through stuff out, grow supplies from building the cab. I threw some out and the garbage men were on strike

If you don't mind me asking:

It sounds like you knew you were gonna get busted. How did you know? What happened? Did they charge you?

Well,youd have to have a very large op for them to use electricity bills.CC reciepts with grow related purchases is no help since you could have been growing anything.Past history sure,doesnt prove you were growing weed though.Even if they did,with the lack of evidence for how much you were growing they would charge you with a misdemeanor(at least in my state).Any decent lawyer could get you off with only grow equipment.Now mabey if they already had some leaf material before hand.Even then it would likely be very little.

As far as the mold goes.Im not talking about a light dusting of mold.If youve ever had a bag of leaves sit around for a few weeks it will liquify.It is extremely difficult to dry out in time and difficult to distinguish.Weed must be dry to be used as evidence.I know in my case they threw it away and used only the most recent timmings I had thrown in there.

This is just what i learned after the fact,They never came to my house cause they really didnt care much.Its mostly decriminalized here.Like I said though,laws will vary.I was busted transporting trimmmings.I did a few days in jail because of the fact they couldnt dry the bud.It was the difference between a misdemeanor and a felony.......
