here is my idea:
i am an avid tree climber, so i was thinking
i could just lug a nice size camoflage container with
some nice soil and a hardy young'n up a big tree, bolt or tape it near the top of the tree, trim a nice cup/hole out of the top of the tree's canopy so the plant gets light, then climb up now and then to add nutrients/take care of it. etc.
what do you guys think?
i could see myself having 5-7 specially marked trees for this purpose.

peace

hey LFD!
give your head a shake.
what could you possibly gain?just think about all the work.
just to check your plants you'll have to climb a friggin'
tree!multiply by how many trees you plan on planting in and jesus, now it's not fun anymore.watering?don't count on mother nature.security?climbing and repelling several trees
is hardly a good way to stay cool.just find a place(on earth)with good sun, keep your plants growing as much like the neighboring vegetation and climb trees for recreation.

I was thinking about trying the same thing this summer. But so you don't have to lug water up. Get a 5 gallon bucket or two. Spray paint them dark green and let the rain fill them up. BUT!! i wouldn't recommend just leaving them open. Where i live we are having problems with some mosquito trasmitted virus (West Nile and EEE). This is a prime breeding ground for them. So if you can get a very very fine mesh and cover the bucket with it it should work. But if you see like things swimming around in it pour it out and stop trying it.

What do you mean? Put the water-catching bucket in the tree next to your growing bucket/bag? Is that what you meant?

If he puts a bucket up there when it rains it'll fill up with water. He can use that water to water his plant.

I've seen this type of growing over in Humboldt County. The plants are easy to spot from the air, but take alot of work to eradicte.

this littlefatdog will surprise you.
i've actually been climbing trees since i was a wee lad.
at 5 years old i got stuck in a 80 foot pine and my mom had
to call the fire department. [ok i've improved since then]
last time i was in vacation in belize i impressed the locals
by being able to climb the long palms just like the other
kids that were selling fresh coconuts, mine were free
the key things about this method are:
- i ENJOY climbing trees.
- i've never fallen out of a tree, i have carried enough
timber and materials up a tree to build a tree house by hand, so water won't be a problem. (that was when i was 12 too)
- my town has is a no low-fly zone
- it's really my only option
- and...
I'M GONNA DO IT!!!!!! I DON'T CARE ABOUT NOTHIN' ANYMORE! YA HEAR ME?! NOTHIN!!!
haha
peace
