My landlord had a new hot water heater installed and wants to come and inspect the work. He lives about 2 hours away. The hot water heater is in the basement, and the basement only has one door around the back of the house. He didn't say anything about inspecting the property while he was here, but he might ask to when he gets here. Does it seem like it would be over reacting on my part to take all my ladies and lock them up in a station wagon in the garage that I am putting a new engine into? I was planning on putting them in the back and putting a blanket over them. Right now they are in a wardrobe cabinet in my room, no smell issues or light leaks (I would definately shut down the cabinet while he was here though) You can see the ballast sitting on top of the cabinet, but it just looks like a box or something I have sitting up there. I have blackout curtains in my room and no lightbulbs as most of the time I work 3rd shift and have to sleep during the day.... just wanted to get some input on how much more stealth I need to go incase he wants to do an inspection.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | hey vernonsupreme, did you check your lease? depending on the "fine print" he can check just about anywhere he wants to, its his property. however, things that are yours he cannot get into, such as a dresser, armoire, etc. stuffing the plants into your station wagon isnt a bad idea, thats what i did one year, the landlord replaced my roof and was there a couple days. I simply rented a u-haul and put the entire grow in it, and parked it in the yard. When he asked what the u-haul was doing in the yard, i said "a friend of mine is moving, i let him park in the yard for a few days" he was like "oh" and went about his business.

Otherwise, if there isn't an odor issue, and your able to lock the wardrobe, I wouldn't be too concerned. Cover the ballast, and hang some clothes/towels from the cab. My last inspection lasted all of two minutes, and they didn't even go into my bedroom. There's been a case recently in Wash. state, where a couple moved their plants(medical) into their car, for an inspection, but were seen by the maintenance guy. He then looked into the car, determined it was MJ and proceeded to call the cops....fuggin' jerk!. Doesn't really fit your scenario, but relevant, nonetheless. ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | well the station wagon is in the garage, on jackstands. I didn't think he would need to go in there, and if he did they would be covered with a tarp or something similar. that sucks about the maintenance dude calling the cops...good thing my garage is attached I havn't decided on what to do just yet. he said that it would be thurs eve or sat eve, my choice. I think i'll do it tomorrow just to get it over with, sat is my day off and I plan on being about half lit by the evening ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Hey Vern, is there something you can put in the room that would make him want to leave. Smelly kitty-litter box, messy pile of laundry by the door, plague victim... Probably not very good examples but you get the idea. If he walks in the room and wants to leave right away, that would be a good thing. Moving them to the car under cover would be the safest thing if you can do it safely.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | HI VS: I think moving them to station wagon is a good idea. Why take a chance. As you said - he may not even go in the house. I wouldn't make the place looks like a disaster area because that may make him think twice to start checking out the place more often to make sure it is not getting trashed. My dad use to have a few rental houses. The ones that had a tendency to be more dirty were the ones he would check more often. If nothing more than to prevent alot of damage to his property. The ones that were kept up were the ones he only went to when he had to. Good luck with the inspection. TOS

well i hate cats, and am not allowed to have pets. but i do like the idea of having something uncomforatable in the room. I'll have to think of something... I understand keeping the property clean, I keep my house; well everything except my office and desk, very clean. I just mowed the lawn too so it looks good. I think I will probably move everything out to the station wagon and throw a bedspread over it. thanks for the input everyone now to just find a plauge victim...

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Good luck with the inspection vernon. Whatever you decide to do, don't act anxious or nervous.....dont make it seem like you are waiting for him to leave. I dont know how 'secure' your garage is, but your water heater isnt in it? Regardless, I might feel better leaving it in the room if it isnt too conspicuous. if it looks like a closet or armoire, I'd do like C-town said and just drape some clothes over it...maybe have a shirt sleeve coming through the door or something. Dont know your situation though. Good luck!
