![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I got a big one that fits an 8" fan and it lasted about 9 months. Sadly, I haven't figured out how to open it yet to replace it. I would also suggest doing some handy work on the dust cover so it can be more easily removed.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | It's variable. The carbon has tiny pores that "grab" certain molecules. Some carbon has more and some has less. It's all about the surface area of the pores. It's made from long decomposed organics, so the source and batch can effect quality. Higher quality carbon "sizzles" when first exposed to water. Higher quality sizzles more then lower quality. | ||

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Also remember it will be effected by the humidity along with the temperature of air passing thru and around it. Higher temps and higher humidity shortens it's life

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Many factors will shorten the life. I go 1 year and then the filter is garbage. I am sure if I used it a for another few months I would be ok but would hate to smell skunks living under my house one day after the year was up. You can wrap the filter in shrink wrap when not in use to preserve the carbon. Like others stated, humidity will cause the life to shorten. Have not had one last under 1 year though. Keep it green.
