I PM'd this because the thread was closed, but no one ever answered the original question so I though I might share with all.

Pumpkin2006

One person in your thread answered your question early on. Someone said something about you being David Copperfield, they were right. You just need to create an illusion. I have done this and it works very well. Basically I am giving away my trick.

Your room doesn't have to be 8 feet tall. You can knock off 2 feet and have plenty of room. Stack boxes all around and at the top cut your boxes to fit up the side and partially over the roof. Then cut boxes in half and cover the roof so that there is a space of 1 to 2 feet between the top of the boxes and the roof of the garage. Vary the size of the boxes covering the sides and the distances between the top boxes and the roof of the garage. This will give the illusion of a stack of boxes in one side of your garage.

The key is to make the space between the roof of the garage and the top of the boxes. Junk all the way to the top of the garage roof looks like you are hiding something. A neat pile of boxes that doesn't look like a fire hazard stacked all the way up to the ceiling looks like your cousin mike's stuff you are storing for him while he is in Iraq.

I personally would cut the length down to 6'x6'x12' and give it some space between all walls as well. This will streangthen your illusion and the 6x6 size is plenty big if you stagger your crop. I could harvest over a pound every two weeks with that size.

Best wishes

Flarn

Well, I'd honestly thing this thread to been dead. I dont see much more progressive discussion coming out of this because of the last thread. I do think that consealing ones grow is an issue for a majority of the community of this site. I think more thought needs to be given to this issue considering that security is our #1 concern. I've been in peoples garages that were filled junk and they weren't trying to hide anything; we'll at least I think they weren't

So its viable to fill your garage with junk and stack it all around. I remember years ago someone had a storage spot in there house that they were renting. They build a room and a large door the size of the wall space and then built a connected floor to it and filled that area with stuff. Then if someone walked up to the storage spot you saw a bike, boxes, cords, and random junk. But if the guy reached back about 4 feet and pulled a string the whole junk wall swung open and he could enter his room. This is what originally sparked my idea about concealment.

I agree with Pumpkin2006's idea of making it not look like what it is.

In your original thread you wanted to wall up half the garage and make it look like it wasn't there.. My reply to that thread was to downsize.

Pumpkins answer told you the same thing, But did it in a way that you would understand WHY you were downsizing..

And I agree, you can make it a decent size, albeit, not 1/2 the garage you wanted and still make it look like it's supposed to be there..

Excellent response Pumpkin2006

Never grow in a home that is not yours. I grow in a garage and can tell you that there is no way to cover all that noise, light, and smell with the plan you all are thinking about. The only way would be to keep anyone from ever entering the garage at all.
You could do a small 400 watt grow in a back closet; though you will be sweating it every time the landlord comes around. It sucks to have to turn everyhing off every time that happens. Been there before, and wont go there again.
