Seeds Direct refuses to replace bunk seeds...I'm screwed

I few weeks ago I posted my results on the seeds I recieved from Seeds Direct. The success rate of the seeds was less than 10%.

I tried to offer sending the remaining seeds back to get new seeds, but SD has been less than helpful.

Here are my emails with SD:

I only tried to germinate 23 seeds. The others are still in the bags.

I used sterile purified water, sterile paper towls, sterile plastic
cups,
and sterile soil. I have germinated and grown numerous different kinds
of
seeds in the past. This is the first time I have had a problem like
this.

Hell, Ill send you back the seeds I have left, and you can just send me
the
same number of seeds back. If the seeds I have are just as good as you
say,
then you should be able to resell them. But I am not using these seeds
because they are not performing. I paid $160 for quality seeds. I am
sorry,
8% success is not fair. If you stand by your seeds, then you should have
no
problem with me sending the ones I have left back, and then you sending
me
new seeds.

I cannot replace the seeds without opening packs which we never do and I
would never resell seeds to a customer if they have been returned by a
customer. I cannot replace them for you I'm afraid.

no offense, but i dont think it would be the seeds because there from all different breeders.

I'm sorry, but yes to me it sounds like you are screwed. They count on their reputation for sales. They don't sound too concerned about your gripe. They must really feel in the right. Are you sure you're not missing something? Did some type of sterilization go wrong? Too much bleach or something? Re-trace your steps. weedman 02 has a very good point. Boy, I hope I have better luck from HS!!!

Maybe the seeds underwent some kind of gamma radiation treatment while in the post which compromised their genetics?

I'm not sure if they are actively nuking mail routinely or just for certain suspicious/international pieces of mail these days. They may not even be doing it at all, but this was the only thing I could come up with.

I know the feeling

I'm just going to order more beans. I had the same experience, only not $160 worth though. I had a terrible germ rate also. The seeds looked like crap. Tiny , microscopic, dark black the kind I would normally throw away. 1 of 10 actually made it. Everyone will always question your ability to Germ. In reality this is about the easiest part of the whole grow. If you have good seeds you
can't hardly hurt them. IT's a weed, you can't hardly kill them.
Sounds like you know what you are doing.
Unless you're able to go there in person , Oh Well. Try again.

I suggest Heavens stairway

I ordered from them and waited about a month and a half and got nothing so I decided to send another order this time getting seeds a little more pricey. I waited patiently yet again for another month. NOTHING! I wrote them and thought about doing what you did and say "Im a member of HC.com and Im gonna flame you this and that". I decided against that approach as a first step and instead wrote them saying that I was extremely dissappointed and couldnt possibly understand how both orders got lost in the mail. Needless to say a week later I received BOTH my packages. Just goes to show you that presence counts for a lot.
