what is optimal humidity for germination?

what is optimal humidity for germination?

if temps are perfect 78 at roots and air temp 70

i can get my humidity as low as 47%

currently its at 67% - i set it high thinking it might be better for germination but im not sure
im not using tent over rockwool since humidity is already at 67%

is this wrong??/

Have you read the germination portion of the Grow Guide?

It doesn't state what the optimal humidity is but does give a decent temp range. As long as you keep them damp but not drowning and the temps in the optimal range - read the Grow Guide - you'll be fine.

yes i read it front to back 4 times - along with the book i early mentioned "indoor growers guide" by Patten

none of which i recall stating what optimal humidity ranges where-
yes they specify temps and then go on to say you could put a tent over seeds to increase humidty
well how do you know if ypou want to increase humidity
if your at 62% would you really want to put a plastic tent over your germination?

110%

some people put them in a cup of water.

I use a wet paper towel, foil, zip lock bag and my 19" crt monitor.

BlueCheese, I don't see your image and the link isn't working.

As for ideal humidity for germination, is that your question?

Or are you asking if your conditions are appropriate for successful germination?

If it's a test, I fail. I don't know the ideal RH for germing.

Butt, I do know how to germinate seeds using several different methods.
Each chooses the one that works best for their own situation.

I would say, for you, the conditions you report with the RH of 67% will get you seedlings unless you got bum seeds or a bad or dry soil mix.

You can always give a little spritzy-mist if the top of the soil dries out.

Your assumption of no cover and higher RH is good thinking.

Good luck to you and happy growing...

Peace- OD
