Ive germinated seeds directly in seedling germination soil several times before and had great success rates but now i decided to grow one flying dutchman royal orange seed using the same method, soil has been moist not wet and temp is 80F and seed was planted 4-6mm deep but 15days later nothing popped. Now i know it is a bad idea digging it up but i was gonna throw it out anyway so i dug it up... now i c it might just be but i cant be sure a white tap root the size of a tiny pin head. so i took the seed and put it in a cup o water and it sunk. Is it possibly still viable and what is the best thing i can do now to try get it to grow should i plant it back into soil? | ||

Take the seed and place it in the center, then double fold the towel, and maybe mist the towel lightly with water. Then place it on a plate or something on top of the water heater. Re saturate and wring out the towel every 6-10 hours and wait for the root to get 1-1.5" long before you take it to soil. I think that within a day or two you will see that it either isn't growing and is probably already rotting, or the little taproot will begin to grow. Perhaps someone else will have a better idea, good luck. Pops
