Mary Jane Lost Like a MF

I sent off for some seeds and I had them germinated and planted them accordingly; but its been a while and they have not yet sprouted. We have had inclimate weather here and I am afraid that I may be SOL.

I was advised to put them in a plastic zip lock and get them steamy and they would come up.

Any suggestions?

IDK, I would recommend starting them indoors in a pot or something. If they already sprouted "tails " out of the seed before you planted them, they should come up. Cold weather = slow, but as long as they are still below ground, even a frost shouldn't kill them.

How do you mean, "get them steamy"?

Here, put seed directly into damp soil ~3/4" deep and wait 4 days for their heads to show. If no plant by day 8, start new seed.

I think he means steamy as in humidity bubbles? I hope?

but I have had seeds sit for 2 weeks before seeing anything.. heat, humidity, water etc.. all make up your 's total environment. If one thing is off, others are affected thus slowing or otherwise an 'other-than-benificial' process begins.. Its difficult to tell what is causing the ill affects but I would wait at least 2 weeks before even thinking about ridding it.. I would at least take a peak at it and see if there is something you could do like take off a small packed piece of peat moss or soil thats too heavy for the baby to lift its head..then, if you didnt catch it in time your looking at some compost..
If time is important then you should start new seeds.. Rid of the weakest and flower te strongest.. IMO you should always try and clone, germ.. more then you need.. Shit happens.. So you want to be ahead of the game as much as possible..
Like having spare bulbs

Good luck! Ive rambled waaaaaay too much

i hope he didn't boil them to "get them steamy". sounds like a bad idea. i usually take the beans and sandwich them with a couple paper towels and put them between 2 dinner plates. just spray a couple times a day keeping it moist and you should have taproots in a couple days. this method gives me a 99% germ rate.don't let the taproots get too long as they will get stuck in the towel. from that point drop it in the soil.

If the taproots get too long and entangled in the towel, just rip off & plant that little piece of towel - it wont hurt anything & your taproot will stay intact.
