Not wanting to start an argument, but bagseeds are just such an unknown quantity that I wouldn't waste my time. Ask yourself why it's seeded. If your lucky is cause the female was pollenated by a male, understandable in an outside grow perhaps, but it's just as likely (or maybe more so) that it's from a plant that's either self pollenated or pollenated by a hermie in the grow room. Either of the latter and you'll be 2-3 months into your grow only to find your babies getting all gender confused cause they come from bad genetics. All you'll get is weak and undeveloped bud. I'veseen so many growers infuriated by it and all because they didn't want to spend a few bucks on seeds. If you've spent your hard earned money building a room, buying lights and sorting your air exchange, you might as well invest in some decent genetics. Nirvana seeds are a great example of what you can buy for minimal outlay. I'd really reccomend their northern lights. Each to their own I suppose. G

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I meant just use bagseed to get a get a feel for growing. I've said it in a few post, im not looking to get anything from my first grow (if i do, cool) I just wanted to go through the stages on these test seeds. Im getting Northern Lights once I get my tent up, and when i do i'll be more confident when i start them because i have at least seen the stages by playing with bagseed. Hermie, Male, just plain garbage it doesn't matter to me.. its all about getting to know what im doing.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I grew out some fantastic bagseed, Sso. The way I look at it is like this. If you find seeds then you have to assume it was grown below it's potential. The difference between good smoke and great smoke is the gardener ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | absolutely true colsmoke ![]() the thing to do is relax a bit, i think i stressed my plants abit when i first starting growing, by stressing myself! ![]() f.e cfls, at first i made sure to keep them an inch away, now i just skipped it , since i didnt need those seedlings right away. so they were kept at 4-5 inches away from the 20-23 watt cfls (5 of them , arranged in a star) and lemme tellja, i wont ever bother with that 1 inch crap again. they ARE huge! ive only ever seen indica leaves that huge! on some hemp variety (birdseed) that i put in a small pot on my balcony. my mj varieties next to it were dwarfed. now most of the plants look like that! ![]() its a 2 week old plant thats biggest and she only has 2 sets of leaves yet, but sidegrowth has allready started and i cant cover her foilage with my hands, the biggest leaves are approaching my hands in size. im thinking of experimenting with the t5 and distance too ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I think bagseed is best utilized by the inexperienced grower by germing the bagseed first, and then cheap (think Nirvana, Mandala ect.) genetics two to three weeks after as the ~real~ grow. This way if you make any fatal mistakes, you won't kill your bought seeds. Also, you won't have to wait an entire grow of bagseed (and its usually less than stellar smoke) to learn from it. I find a heat mat is one of the most useful germ tools that I originally thought 'unnecessary'. It makes your seeds grow much faster and healthier, and can mean the difference between life and death in those 'on the fence' cases. I've recently had great success w/ Rapid Rooters. I would have saved a large batch had I used them 1 round earlier .I put these at #1 and rockwool at #2. But I feel the RR are more forgiving. I generally use a light fluffy soil type, with less perlite than I would use for reg. growth, for planting seeds. A trick to temp. fix overwatering, AWA useful in seed soaking solutions, is a tblspn/G hydrogen peroxide. This will aerate your water, but remember, it will also kill your microlife. I think it's most useful in extreme overwatering cases to save the plant, and seed soaking solutions. Other than that, try to keep the seed as close to the surface as possible while still covered with a bit of soil.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I've had some bad luck germing seeds too (see my small cabinet grow link below). I just resorted putting some soil in a red plastic cup, water it, put the seed in, cover with something to make a humidity dome, keep it moist under a 23W fluoro and bam!! You've got a seedling. I've tried alot of other methods but couldn't really dial it in. This "old school" method works just fine for me. It might take a few more days but it seems less error prone. Hope this helps. Choader
