I am thinking of starting them in those cubes ,forgot the name, in a tray of water. How big should they be when I put them outside in soil? | ||

 | Are you talking about rockwool cubes? If so, they should not be allowed to sit in standing water. The bigger the plants are, the better chance they stand of surviving outside. I'd start them in rockwool cubes (don't forget to soak them in 5.4 pH'd water & to shake out the excess) and when roots are showing, plant them in solo cups of soil. At this point I'd start hardening them off to the outdoors. When the plants become rootbound in the cups, transplant them to your spot outdoors.
