Unhappy Driving me up the wall : it's a short drive.

Hi all..

Really need some info here... I've been successfully growing from seed for over 5 years, yet something has happened that I've never seen in that time. The last lot of 16 seeds have germinated 100 % : but 8 are yellow/white, and 8 are normal !!

They have the same air, light, and growing medium ( wool blox) and the same solution of 1/4 Dutch Master Grow. Now, the last couple of days, even the green ones are getting a distinct yellow tinge to them.... help !!

I need this to be sorted as I rely on my medicine to get me through. Thanx anyone....

The Eldonite.

Unhappy Under a Light ??

Hey Hatch...

Yes... they are under a 600 watt grow light... I've never had this happen before...in over 5 years.... update is I've just had another look and the pure yellow/white ones are looking like they're dying.. no growth at all... and the green ones turning yellow are quite bushy at about 4 " high...

I'm a beginner - but 1/3 of my first soil pops where yellow/white and I thought - "there's no way these are going to make it". They all did.

I would keep the light away just a bit - maybe 24" (depending on your room temps) and I also would allow the soil to dry.

Also I think you are adding nutrients too early on... You should wait around two weeks after sprouting.

Hey The Eldonite.. Welcome to GC!

Are you using bagseed? Or are all 16 the same genetics? You also say your growing in wool blocks? Rockwool Im guessing is what your using?
We all would appreciate a little more information so we can help you solve this problem. Please fill out the nursery questionaire (in my sig)..Pictures would also be beneficial
In the mean time I would suggest not feeding any nutes.. Perhaps a flushing would be in order to clean out the rockwool. Yellowing leaves can mean a few problems..Such as low Nitrogen, over-nuting and even PH problems can all cause yellowing of the leaves..
Fill out the questionaire and Im sure we will be able to help you solve this problem!
Good Luck!!

Cultiv8or is growing every day.Cultiv8or is growing every day.

I've had seedlings from various plants come up looking really pale and sickly. Sometimes they come up nice and green, sometimes they're almost pure white.

Be sure not to overfeed them that young - they don't have much resiliency at that age and the seed has everything the plant needs to grow for at least a week if not two. Just make sure they've got light and water and they should do just fine.

i dont feed seedlings at all till they ask for it. (ends of leaves straight allgood, ends of leaves pointing up (like a claw at the end) a bit too much, the claw pointing down "WANT FOOD DADDY!"

isnt 600w abit too much for seedlings or am i completely wrong? (never had a 600w light)

but like hellraizer said, need more info, like for example, have you run this strain through before? using the same methods?

The Eldonite--They don't happen to be 5 year old seeds do they?? I had problems with seeds after about 5-6 years doing stuff like that. Or a different strain, but new seeds?? Those were what came to my mind for what's going on. Hope it gets figured out. Welcome to the garden too.

Happy Growing
