I usually clone, but when I switch strains I go from seeds. I believe this method ensures the best germination success:

Pre-Soak rockwool cubes in 5.2 to 5.4 pH water for about 24 hours (to normalize the pH of rockwool that is normally high)

Then arrange the cubes inside a plastic dome, plant the seeds about 1 inch deep and thats it. Rockwool keeps moisture pretty well and you wont have to add any water for a couple of days, then add a little just to keep the cubes moist but not soaking wet.

Wall-Mart sells minature cloner/seedling starter greenhouses, ive seen them on sale for about 3 dollers and reg. priced up to about 20 bucks, they come with rockwool, a tray with spacers that holds water, and a clear plastic lid to hold in moisture and give that greenhouse effect. You can also pick em up at lowes or home depot in the garden center

sure thing man! Good luck with that. If you are using hydro setup with hydroton or similar medium you can transfer the rockwool cubes with seedlings in them directly into the medium along with the rockwool cube - this will minimize the shock on the seedlinks.
