I would plant the seeds straight into the rw cube. The tap root may try to push the seedling up-out of the cube. So now I poke in the seed with a stick without crushing it's shell then they sit in a tray with a bit of water until roots pop out.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Dukey: Thanks they def. look like something i'd be interested in. However i just bought a dozen rw cubes a week ago, so i'm going to use these up so i don't waste my money, then i'll def. invest in them. i've already killed two seedlings with the rw cubes, but i'm pretty sure heat and over watering were the culprits, which i now think i have under control. I'm about a day or two from finding out. eatthc: That's pretty much what i've done as well. I germed in a glass of water for a day and 1/2. The one seed was open and a small taproot was sticking out, so i poked a hole in the rw top, and put the seed in root down and used a paper clip to gently push it down further. It is now right back at the top of the hole (3 days later) and i can't wait for it to pop it's head out for some light (fingers crossed).

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I'm not so sure about the watering of the cube though. The cube was soaking for over 24 hours in ph'd water, then without shaking much water out of it I put the seed in, then set the rw into the 6'' pot with the hydroton with a large plastic bag over the entire pot used as a hum. dome. I've been checking the rw for wetness for 2 1/2 days now and it's still pretty damp so i havent' even wet it since the seed was put it. Will it be good for the seedling if the rw dries out some, or should I be keeping it wet? I am going to hand water until i see some roots poking out the bottom then drop it in a dwc bucket.

[quote= I'm germing in a glass of water for at least 24 hours, then going to move them to damp paper towels 'til i get a nice size root popping out. THen it's off to the rockwool cubes. When they're in the holes should i keep the rw wet or just wet them and let them dry out before wetting again? Also what's a good temp for them while they're getting started? I'll take any answers/suggestions and appreciate them all.[/QUOTE] I ordered 10 WW got 20. Growing in Ebb and Grow !8 pots. A gift of 100, 2 inch rockwool and some advise from a good friend. Soaked 2inch Rock Wool in PH 5.5 for 24 hrs. Placed seeds in a glass of RO water at 6.2 ph for about 6 hrs untill the all sank to bottom. Placed seeds about 1/4 inch deep.(Pointy end down) Placed in tray with dome and placed all on a heating mat at 77 deg F All seed sprouted within 7 days, feed only water on day 5 and 7. Had some roots on day 9 and fed with fuul strength Supernatural Super Burst. Had lots of true leaves by day 12. Have done the same thing with 5 Afgan, 10 Northern Lights and 10 The Church. Only had 3 seed no show out of all of them. This is just me and my experience is only 10 months old. Best of luck
