I have just recently started wondering the answer, At witch point does the plant need light ? Is it as soon as the seed starts cracking ? Or as soon as the shell of the seed comes off? | ||

 | I would think that it would need it as soon as it hit the surface, or atleast as soon as the food stored in the first round bean leaves ran out.

| Once it comes out of the ground or rockwool it needs light. Only minimal light really for direction at that point..

| you don't want light on your roots ever. i put my rockwool cubes under lights as soon as i plant em, keeps em a nice and warm, and when they do poke out(they don't always come out with a seed helmut on) thats the first thing they see(since it cant always be me)

| Well what I do is, take a few seeds and put them in a plastic baggie with a wet paper towel/napkin or what have you and leave it out in the sun. Some sprout within 1 - 3 days or even up to a week, just be patient | ||
