Seeds in water to long?

Can seeds be left in water to germinate to long? Long story short growing partner is a lazy sack of shit. But i have had seeds in the water for about a week a half, One has had a tap root for prob. 9 days the others a little less. One taproot(the oldest) is MASSIVE is it to late or will time only tell. Gotta get some plastic cups tomorrow to plant them in if its still worth it.

All the proper equipment should be purchased and prepared before starting seeds. Once seeds crack open their shell they can be planted any time. After planting you can add supplies as needed, but the germination and seedling stage can't be procrastinated....and I wouldnt leave them in water for more than a day or two after they have cracked. Soaking too long can cause the taproot to rot and a nasty film can develop.

Well you can plant them and probably scrap something.....are they bagseeds?

If you have more viable seeds I would just start again and nail it this time.

well i use the 'soak in water' method, and from my experience and others, you shouldn't let your bean soak more than 3 days....by letting them go more you risk a chance of "drowning" them.....after three days if nothing has popped theres two options....toss them...or if there viable (all sank to the bottom) try planting them anyways...i still have about a 50% rate this way.........

but the fact that your taproots havn't turned black yet are surprising, i would def. go ahead and plant those A.S.A.P.....and expect to see sprouts in 2 days max, but like i said you may have done more harm than good, especially if you weren't doing constant water changes..hope this helps, n good luck
