Some seeds are hard to germ... Lowrider is a good example

Here's my method...
Soak seeds in a glass of water for 24 hrs.... any that crack get moved to the moist paper towel in a baggie on top of my pc monitor.... the ones that don't crack, get cracked manually between my first finger and thumbnail... then put into the papertowel

you could make an incubator for your seeds, it would cost around $25, but it will keep your seeds warm. i use a cup of water inside an incubator. it's really easy to make

I think if you have tried all methods with no luck then it is a question of your environment.

Seeds need warm moist conditions to germinate. Some seeds take longer than others and you must be patient.

Most importantly, there neeeds to be source of heat for the seeds.
Warm water in a glass until the seed cracks and then into your growing medium which also needs to be kept warm and moist in the root zone in order for the seed to continue
to develop.

What heat source are you using for germing the seeds and then for newly "planted" cracked seeds?

I firmly believe you do not need any of the additives it will just mess you up more.

Think about growing flowers or veggies... seen in ground on warm soil, water and light and voila you got a sprout. No extras added - just a good soil mix for those seeds to grow in.

Don't give up on seeds too early. It's taken over a week for a seed to crack for me.
I made some seeds and those seeds are huge, whitish and they take a long time to germ because the hull of the seed is so hard.

Take care....

OD

hiya
personally, i wouldn't throw out any pale/light ones, i admit i like the darker seeds (cos they look tasty & fresh ) but have had plenty good plants with light seeds, i may however chuck them if they hadn't sunk in water after day or 2, no idea what temps ive had but i always place the (small) water containers half on/half off around edge of a reptile heat mat, oh and also open lids & shake/ariate the water every time i remember, id guess ive had around %90 sucsess over a lot of years with random seeds that have just been added to any bags of weed ive bought
would like to add that most of the resulting plants were def better than what they came with, anyway thats only my way
best of luck to ye

Don't know if it helps ~ Just something I've always done

Always have a good Germination Rate & A high Female Ratio....

Added note: Nicking the hull can help with Thick shelled Seeds

That should help to get those taproots poking out. Good call on the heating mat.
