This germination method is mainly for new growers or anyone having difficulty germinating seeds. Everyone is invited and welcome to use this germination method. This germination technique is similar to many methods, but this is the way that I get near 100% Germination every time. SUPPLIES NEEDED: -Seeds.Of course. -All white paper towel, three to four sheets. No toilet paper or any kind of paper towels with inks/dyes. Just plain white. -One ziplock sandwich bag.I use the double seal ones, any airtight ziplock will do fine. -Purified/filtered, or bottled water.I use Fiji bottle water, It has a ph of 7.0. Any good purified or filtered water works. -Heat source. You can use the top of a CRT monitor or a heating pad or even near a heater... I use a heating pad with a bathroom towel on top of the heating pad. That way they stay nice and warm and dont get cooked. You can buy a seed germinating heating pad at almost any hardware store that has a garden center. THE 6 STEP METHOD: Step 1:Fold paper towel just enough to fit into the ziplock sandwich baggie. Step 2:Moisten the whole paper towel with bottled water or purified/filtered water. Do not over saturate paper towel, it should be fully wet but not dripping. Step 3:Open the paper towel one fold, put seeds into middle and then close paper towel over seeds. Try not to put the seeds to close to each other. Step 4:Stick paper towel and seeds carefully into baggie. Step 5:Seal the baggie most of the way, blow some air into the baggie and then seal it up the rest of the way. Step 6:Stick baggie on-top of anywhere nice and warm, 70- 80F, just don't cook the lil buggers... Never fails. Happy Holidays All![]() Last edited by sticky_bud; 11-02-2009 at 05:40 PM..

![]() ![]() | I do the same thing except for the fuji water. My tap water is neutral with the ph. It seems that there are a few people going through some issues with germing, so if you havent tried this style yet you should. Maybe a Sticky, if there isnt one yet??

ckpland thanks, here's a nice phatty bubbling hash bonger for ya ![]() There are so many ways to germinate but I found this method works the best for me, out of all the ways i have tried. Espessially for newbies, this method is made to be a foolproof way to germinate seeds easily. No need to pre-soak in water or use H2o2, this method is nice and simple.

![]() ![]() | Some seeds take longer to germinate than others, depending on how old they are. You want to make sure you keep them in a dark warm place, if they are too cold they will not pop. With the seed in the cup, do you just have it at the bottom of the cup or is it wrapped with the paper towel? If you follow the directions up top you should be able to get that thing to sprout its tail within a few days; as stated above if they arent too old. Good luck.

Also, if I don't see a tail within 48 hours do I continue to wait?? or drop them in the medium and pray for the best? It can't hurt right?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Rockwool is fine as long as you PH the cubes first. I have used the lemon method for PHing the cubes it works fine. I would recommend that you just put the germinated seeds into the soil. Rockwool works fine for hydro but you dont really need to use em for your situation... Some beans are pesky and might take a lil longer than 48hrs just be patient. If you plant them they will grow, that's their job.

I've never germed a seed before and found one in my bag today that passed the pinch test so I'm giving it a go! Hope to put your method to the test, will let you know how it goes!Murdthom

The method I use is very similar- but it involves using two plates instead of a ziploc. I have used this successfully for years. This method, passed down to me ages ago, is more environmental, no petroplastic needed, and keeps the sprouts from sliding around... 1) Fold a large size p .towel twice (into 1/4 size) 2) Wet but not dripping, as Sticky said, with filtered tapwater (pro filter not brita!) 3) Put in between two small plates of the same type, stacked normally, front to back. Open 1 fold of the pt and space the beans out, the close the -The pt should keep a very tiny gap open for air to get in. -I like the idea of a bit of 02 getting in 4) try to keep around 70 degrees. 5) check 2x a day, mist pt when necessary, but by this time, about 48 hrs as Sticky says, the good beans should have popped. edit: I then pop these into rockwool with baby juice about 600ppm.
