Um, you need to take that shell off IMO. I had one that wouldn't shed the shell and once enough was enough for me and I pried it off it was too late and died on me.

Ok, I have taken the seed shell off. is there any way to tell if its dead besides waiting it out? i took a tiny pair ot tweezers and gently pried it open, open rather easily.

It very well could have, but I took it off after being popped up for about 7 days. When I took it off the coyteledon (sp?) leaves were already yellow. They the browned in the same seed shape and died there.

It could have been many other factors as well... seeds are pretty fragile.

Howdy all
Well my first attempt was a failure, but I have 2 new seeds germ'd and the shells fell off themselves this morning, and I am already seeing the first initial leaves. My question is, when should I be removing my lid from my humidity dome?

I remove the humidity dome as soon as I see the sprouts are standing straight up.

thanks for the quick reply dude...

Should I also be lowering my fluorescent light after removing the humidity dome? With it i would have an extra 4-5" that I could move it closer. I am using 2 4foot 32w T5 bulbs if that helps any.

Thanks again

Hella happy how fast these things popped up.

It seems that Ive had that problem before and I just kept the cotyledon misted with water until it slid off.

i scrapped that sprout, as I removed the seed shell and underneath was all black. I do however have 2 cotton candy sprouts almost ready to be moved over to there new DWC homes. Things are going much smoother this time around.
