Ever find seeds in weed?
permalink

Hey everyone.

I was just thinking, have you ever gone through the finished product and been able to find seeds? I got this stuff, I wish i knew which strain it was, but it's really great. I was thinking do you think it would be worth it to try and look for seeds?

These seeds would then be able to be planted and create more of this lovely batch I've got correct?

I guess what I'm asking is, should I just go buy some seeds, or should I see if I have any in my bag?

Lots of people find seed in their product. Problem is, they tend to be hermaphrodites. Search "bagseed" here for lots of people growing this stuff out.

Unless money is a huge issue, I would suggest getting seeds from a reputable breeder especially as you are new. You'll have a much higher chance of success and it will be encouraging. When you have some skills, you can take some chances and be flexible enough to deal with whatever surprises the bag throws your way.

I'll add that you can test your skills first w/ some of the freebies from attitude if you're worried about killing your first batch. It is what I did and now I have the confidence to grow all of my premium genetics.

Also, bagseeds aren't terrible, I just grew a very nice one, but alas, it was a boy...

i popped 4 bag seed, got 4 girls. they came from a bag of dank that obviously herm'd. but they never herm'd themselves.

i believe all fem seeds to come from a herm... one way or a nother. wether the plant does it on its own, or its forced i still view them as herms.

bag seed is always worth it... right now i have bag seed from regular shit weed thats killin my white rhino. oh well, watcha gonna do?

every strain to date is from someones bag seed. its just been worked with, weeded out, and remastered.

as far as your seeds growing the same product. probably not...chances are that female has been polinated by a different strain, wich would change the genetics. that seed will not grow the same pot it was found it, because it simply has different genetics in it now.

depends how many seeds there are... if you have a pound and there are 5 seeds layin in the bottom of the bag, im callin it a herm. if it was pollinated there would have been lots of seeds. in my case i know where my seeds came from, and the grower keeps no males, grows from clones. so the chance of a male in the mix is about one in 14 million.

in my case the bag that the weed came o ut of produced two distinct pheno's 2 where the sweet fruity afghan just like what was in teh bag i bought, the other two were a spicy/earthy sandalwood sort of smell.

either way i wasnt complainin, worked out great!

Now that I think of it - even though it has been a long time - I
always seemed to find at least one seed in a bag, so it was
more surprising to not find a seed.

I haveny bought any seeds from any seedbanks to date. I have never quite dared to order from anywhere for fear of bunk genetics or getting caught. I knew somone that received a letter from the DEA after buying his seeds, clearing declairing that they knew he had them and that if he was caught growing them, would be prosecuted to the fullest.
I havent had misserable luck with bagseed. I just try to pick them from the best quality weed that i come across localy. ALthough, I have to agreed that i seem to have a rather high male ratio. Approx. 1 in three or 4 turns out to be a female w/ no male traits. Quality is usually as good or better than the product i started with. Yeilds are pretty fair. However, even though i dont have the berries to do it myself Id assume the rest of the community is right in the fact that starting with garunteed genetics is probably best.
On that note.. If any of you have any ideas of good places to obtain quality genetics without any legal reprecussions id be very gratful for the guidence.
