does anybody in here use the method of soaking seeds in ph`d water with oxyplus (20 drops per litre) for 24 hours before germing ? my friend who initially taught me the basics of nft growing SWEARS by this.. | ||

| Hitting seed husks with a higher than norm concentration of O2 is good for just one thing...sterilizing it free of unwanted pathogens. The husk is a obstacle that O2 has zero physical effect on. I'll put it this way...seeds survive passage through your gut and that hours long bath they get in gastric acid...wholly intact. Don't kid yourself that O2 in solution is going to have any effect on the things. And...unless you do it in a sealed container, placed some where dark, and temps kept below 70F...its a utter waste of time. Soon as the solution is hit with light, and or warms above 70F...any available O2 jumps on out of the solution and goes airborne. | ||

| I dunno, I never heard of oxyplus, is all, don't know what it is. I only do it to sterilize the seed. Had an oxycontin once, wasn't impressed.
