super simple seed starting success ( guide for soil starting)

welcome to the SSSSS club. this is not for hydro growers sorry ( use a rapid rooter or rockwool ). I wrote this as I have no clue why people struggle with seeds, and why there is a sub forum for this. this method is what I use as there is less material waste / time waste and step waste, and it's more "naturalistic" ..seed starting should be fun and the easiest part of a grow. So on with the show

step 1. get materials together, soil / container / seeds / water and some are optional ( tray / dome / tags / heat mat )

step 2. put soil in container / cup and leave some room in top to fill in later in 1 week

step 3. water soil down, this will get rid of dry spots in the soil if any

step 4. make a hole depth about the size of you fingernail, use finger / chopstick / tag .....

step 5. drop seed in, don't worry about direction, nature takes care of that

step 6. put tags in, and cover seed with soil

step 7. use your thumb over your water container, and water over where seed is to make sure your seed has direct contact with the soil. don't use to much water it's about making contact

step 8. (optional ) put your containers in a dome and add heat mat ( not over 90F ). now patiently wait for seeds to sprout

the biggest problem people have is waterlogging the soil which can make no air to the root / seed and rot it. seeds don't need much water to germinate. keep temps below 90F ( I like 85F ). be patient and don't water the soil again. for a boost add some seaweed to your water at a very low dose ( I use 1/16 to 1/8 tsp per gallon ) as this known to speed up germ times

keep it easy, replicate nature as much as possible, and last enjoy the journey, not the destination..
