Euro bud breeders Stress out a female to the point where she turns "Hermaphrodite". They do this by using a combination of Chemicals and Harsh Conditions the most commonly used compound is Silver Nitrate (AgNO3) carefully diluted with water.
Spraying this solution onto a female plant early in the Flowering cycle forces the female to start producing small Male flowers within the Premature buds.
The male flower in turn pollinates the female buds, and the plant begins forming Seeds.
However, the seeds from forced females aren't the most ideal candidates for germination, as they have come from an "Abused" parent. (Abusive O.G.)
Rather breeders take the pollen from the male flowers on these plants and use in to pollinate other, healthy female plants than have been chosen as strong mothers and that have not come into contact with any chemical solution.
Once a room of flowering mothers is pollinated, a seed crop will begin to grow, the seeds from these plants will be 99% female when germinated. Some problems have been know to arise, though: Feminized seeds will sometimes produce "Hermaphrodite" plants or females with less vigor than usual. This is why it's usually a good idea to purchase the large packs of Feminized seed.

Anybody try this method and produces seeds?
Actually according to the grower's bible I bought at barnes n noble, breeders produce feminized seeds by spraying or fertilizing female cannabis plants with some form of hormone which causes the plant to produce "balls". They harvest that pollen and use it to pollenate other female plants. Those seeds will tend to grow female plants. The difference here is that these plants are not stressed into being a hermie.

I've heard many times that hermie plants are garbage because any seeds that come from hermie's or their pollen will tend to hermie as well, even under good conditions.

Salutations & Hallucinations,

I've read that as well, and the chemical used to cause the "branch" to change sex is "Gibberellic Acid" I believe it could be applied to a single branch of a "Female" not hermy, plant to cause that particular branch to change sex creating "Male" flower which will produce male pollen.
The collections methods vary but, most common way is to wrap a plastic bag around the branch in question and after pollenation tapping the branch gently to dislodge any pollen and causing it to settle to the lowest corner of said bag to be "VERY CAREFULLY" cut away from the plant.
The bag is then moved to a different location to be "VERY CAREFULLY" removed from the branch. Pollen can be collected into vials, capped and stored for later use.
At least thats one way i've read it is done.. And, no they do not use the seed from the same plant pollenated (as i've done (doing)).

Good luck on your adventure of becommiing a Breeder, someday (when I grow up) I might wanna be one

Have a Wonderlicious Day

So, you're saying a male plant pollinates a female produces male/female/possible hermie seeds and female pollen will produce female seed ? did I get that right??
And I have never heard or seen the "S1" abbreviation on F1
A little explination sorry for the vagueness of my first post. Lets say you take two well known plants say hashberry and satori and you pollinate them you will end up with a hashberry x satori F1 those seeds will be either male or female. Lets say you take Gibberellic Acid or I have also heard Colloidal Silver works too and flip a female plants gender through stress to male and then pollinate other clones of that plant you will end up with a someplant S1 those seeds will be entirely female but they will have a higher chance of hermaphroditic growth.

If you have any other questions put them in here and if I dont get back to you pm me or something.

thinking on this I have to say that I have a personal reason for the disliking of feminized seeds, I think it is deleterious to cannabis genetics to put a whole ton of potentially hermy plants out into the world. Cannabis is a gendered plant for a reason, to promote genetic diversity inside the cannabis genome.

I wish you the best of luck in your endeavors and I hope those plants treat you well.
