Hi. Just germinated 5 feminized Bluecheese seeds and all sucessfully sprouted. They were placed in a glass of filtered water for 24 hours on the 13th Sept and then the paper towel method was used. When the root began to show less than eight hours later I placed them in peat pellets and put those in a propagator. Boy have they grown... 4 days old and they're two and a half inches high and have got their first set of true leaves. I've got them under a blue LED but they share a grow room with two... god knows what they are... (I know they're sativas ) and they're under a 250w blue CFL and doing nicely. So, my question is regarding the size of the seedlings... can they be too high and when's the best time to transfer them to their main pots (going to be in Bio All Mix) Thanks in advance for advice

![]() | The light is only six inches from the top of the leaves... its a very cool light so I'm not worried about heat damage. Just read some other posts regarding the same problem, seems I may have made the mistake of putting them on the window-sill at first. Also looking at some of the pics that go with the other posts mine don't look tooo bad in comparison.

By cool lights do you mean flouros? If so, you can get much closer without harming your young plants. 2" is not unusual. If your seedlings are getting top-heavy and you are concerned about their stability, you need a sled. No sled dealers near you? Get out your tools and protective eye-wear and build a fleet of them to have on site. Here is my most used model. ![]() As you can see, I use only the finest materials and the craftsmanship is, well, let's just say the German sleds cannot compare.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | if its a big light like that, its better to have it abit further away, because then more of the ligtht (its a small plant, seedling) hits the plant (and less chance of drying the plant out) if its multiple small lights, with a small plant, its better to have the light further away as well, because then more of the lights hit the plant, the lights combine, as it were. with multiple lights as the plant grows, moving the light closer is more beneficial.
