I don't know what to do. I have this potting soil it is called Scotts potting soil. Can you put peat moss at the bottom of the plants? Will that hurt me or them? I got pots and everything but I am still in the Paper towel thing and the roots have not came out yet. Can I just take the seeds and put them in the pot and mix the soil up with the peat moss like you normally would with plants? Or should I leave them in the paper towel? It looks like they are about 1 1/2 from the root coming out of the seed. Should I put peat moss in then? Is this potting soil good to use will it kill my plant? All it says on the pearl moss bag is Sphagnum Peat moss.It says it loosens and aerates soil to promote strong root systems. Is that good? And it also says that it is highly absorant. Would that mean I would have to water less?

Everything is fairly normal at this point. Don't panic, I've had good luck with the paper towel method. I'd wait till you see the root start to break the seed casing. The soil you are using is adequate, next time try Fox Farms planting mix. The peat isn't really necessary at this early stage, your planting medium will provide the drainage your little ones need. Be careful not to over fertilize. Water is fine. Good luck

yeah, Mr Bong is right, wait until you see the root, then place in soil that has been drenched and drained, pointy root side down. Be VERY gently with your seeds, 1/4" - 1/2" deep. Then do not over water. check out the grow library for more info on germination. This has been hair raising for me too. Seems my seeds are slow, been in paper towels for 4 days and got 4 roots out of 5 seeds. I'll be moving mine tomorrow. And I'm terrified I'll kill them.
