Hello all, let me begin by tellin you what i have done so far. I placed four seeds in an empty ice tray (the one with like 10 little compartments) I filled two of the compartments with some rain water falling off of a tent(good idea, bad idea?) anyways, a couple of days later along the seem of one of the seeds a little crack opened and i saw a little kinda white lookin thingy. I figured that this was the beginning of a new life. So I took the one seed and put it in a 4' pot. I placed it little white thingy down, and about an inch and a half in the soil. I was wondering how long i should wait before the seed will come through the soil?

I just got home from work to find that the other three seeds have cracked open too. I just planted them, the only problem is that i only have three pots for four seeds. Do you think it wise to plant two seeds in a 4' pot side by side?

Well it is not advised but hey ya gotta do what ya gotta do ... Either that or just cut the top off a plastic milk container or a soda bottle, etc and use that in the mean time (who ever said you had to plant a plant in a planter ) before you find out what sex they are then transplant them out toa bigger pot.

Good Growin'

Well, the sooner the better at this point. They will be fine if you are gentle and careful when moving them.
Keep in mind that at this point the root system is about equal to the height of the plant but the roots starts to pick up after about 10+ days. So if they are 2" now so is the root system and it goes out as well as down so they may be crossing into each other. How tall are they?

Once they get larger like a week+ you will not be able to seperate them without damage.
They will compete for food and root space. They may choke each others systems and be real hungry. I never did this so I am just speculating.... Let us know what you do....

I have acted to late i'm afraid. I looked today and both seeds have sprouted. I don't want to touch them because of fear of breaking them. When should i get them out of the pot? There about two inches away from each other. If i let them grow to big i'm afraid they will cross roots and be very difficult to seperate. Of course if i let them grow, what will happen?

It's been about two and a half weeks and There doesn't seem to be a problem with the two plants in the same pot. One is outgrowing the other, but it is also outgrowing all the rest of the other ones too. I suspect that the roots are intertwind at this point so i won't try to seperate them. What i am going to do is transplant both of them, together, into a 8' pot and see if that is enough space to grow both of them to maybe a height of 2ft. They both get enough light. I also have flourescent lights on the sides of my grow area. So as far as i see, as long as the roots have room to grow i should be O.K. What do you guys think?

I'm in a little bit of a jam. The smaller plant of the two in the same pot is developing yellow tips on the bottom leaves. Only on the first set of jagged leaves though. I don't know what would cause this. I'm thinkin it would be because of a deficiency of nutrients, but wouldn't the whole plant start turning yellow and not just the bottom leaves? I was thinking that if i supplied more fertalizer to this pot with the two plants in it, maybe the little plant will do better. Then again i'm afraid i will over fert. it. I'm always afraid of over doing it. I keep reading these posts of people who, over water, over feed, over love, and thats something i don't want to do. It's my first time growing so i'm being extra carefull. Just let me know what I should do about the yellow tips.

Oh yeah, the plant is about four weeks old and is only about 4" tall. Looks healthy other than the two small leaves with yellow tips though. Your replies are appreciated

Shoulda took LBs advice I think...I'm afraid you're gonna always have problems.
It sounds like a defecency, how it affects the plant can give you clues as to what it is.
Are the leaves yellowing or just the tips?
Dieing tips could be from too much water or ferts, among others.
Foliar feeding could be a way to feed one plant and not the other.

It's just the tips of the bottom two leaves on the first node. I don't think its over fert. I haven't fed them yet:} And i don't think its over water because i only water them twice a week and a bare minimum at that. Actually the plant as a whole is doing good except for the obvious yellow tips on the bottom. In fact its only about one ince smaller then the rest of them. Your right about having problems, I can see the bigger one of the two trying to block out the other one from the lights. Luckely i have floro's on the side as well. So hopefully all will go well. If not, hey I'm a beginner. If i have just one plant to smoke and its a male, I'll still be happy. Cause there is always next time, and i learn from my mistakes. By the way what is Foiler feeding? I've never heard of it. Course I haven't heard of alot of things.
