Hello, I am just curious about something, and I was wondering if someone knew the answer to this question. Okay, I've been watching my mother's assorted variety of plants growing. and i notice that for every 6 seeds she plants, 4 of them come up and grow very nice and green, and out of every 6 seeds, 1 of them grows but is a little bit slowed down or turns yellowish... and the other just doesn't sprout. Well how come with marijuana seeds, it's hard to get a plant going good? I thought weed was a very hardy plant. If it is, then why is it so f*ing hard to grow? Thanks yall! Keep smokin'!

Hey ryan666...

Any particular reason for thinking in MARIJUANA as a hard plant to grow?
I think that would depend on the seed you have!
I'm experiencing 3 different ones now and all i can say is if you take proper care and provide the plant with not to much off everything (except light), they'll grow just right.

Anyway what i want to say is that you need to give them something (food, water, light, etc) just don't give them to much...
Your babies will thank you latter!

You can find details about all this stuff in the grow guides.

Smile

Hey guys. Thanx for the reply. I appreciate it. I guess I wasn't expressing what I was thinking properly. I was just curious on why it is so hard to sprout a seed and get a good plant!? I have had several seeds sprout in the past, but they have all died because of my parents! (grr) Anywho, I have grown some plants that were developing quite beautifully, so i have a good knowledge base as far as growing goes. I guess I am not too good with germination. Could someone tell me a surefire way to get a viable seed to sprout (except for the papertowl method.. uck). Someone told me that if you drop the seeds into some water (i used my brita filtered water) and let them soak they will crack and sprout. Should the seeds sink? Or does that mean they're bad? And what colour should a seed that has started germination (but has not yet sprouted) be? One of my seeds is turning a DARK green colour, that almost looks brownish/black. The other one is not that colour yet, but is turning darker. In past experiences the seeds have sprouted when turning this colour, but i am not entirely sure. So if someone could help me then I would really appreciate it. Thanks!. Ryan666. Keep smokin' and standin' up for your rights!

Ryan, I am trying that seeds-in-the-water method right now, just to f*ck around. I put six seeds in a Kerr jar and left it in the sun, and about a week later I had one sprout. All of my seeds sank to the bottom. I haven't planted it yet to see if it affects the growing, I'm curious to see how long it will grow in just the water. lates

Rockwool and vermiculite are alternatives to the paper towel method for germing seeds. If you want to try something different.

The Seeds in water trick does work, i have been using for a while now and have had a very good turnout everytime. But it seems that noone actually does this right. Everyone always screws it up. And no matter how many times i have posted this EXACT same message replying to the same thing it always happens. Now i guess i'll just post it again so that a new batch of people can use it and get it right.

WHAT YOU DO
---------------------
1. Get seeds from your source
2. Pinch each seed with your finger to
determine strength, seed is no good if it crumbles or cracks
3. Fill a plastic tub (margerine container or something) with distilled water, distilled water can be found everywhere you can pick some up at 7-11, do no use tap water.
4. Place plastic wrap over the container and secure with an elastic. Leave this in a warm place for a few hours to bring the water to room temperature.
5. Once the water has reached room temperature drop your seeds in the container, do not worry about if they sink or float it really doesn't mean anything, and also don't worry about colour changes and whatnot.
6. Secure the plastic wrap back overtop the containor and then place a towel over the container. You want it to be DARK not in the sun like the guy posted a few messages back. And leave in dark warm place.
7. Check on the seeds every 12 hours and as soon as they have cracked and you can see a white thing (the root) begginging to pop out remove the seed and place it in your soil and then into the sun.
The seeds could crack all at different times you just want to catch them right as they have begun to crack, IF you follow this YOU WILL GET RESULTS. Just trust me please and stop asking the same question people...i don't mean to sound like an asshole its just i have this feeling people just don't wanna follow my instructions. I swear to you just try this with a few seeds and it will work. If it doesn't then the seeds probably wont' work anyway you do it.

hello. i have just recently obtained about 20 seeds. about 16 of them look reasonably viable, and the other 4 or so are not cracked and do not have visable damage so no harm will be done by attempting to sprout them. I have tried a method (i just read the method posted, and will try it next time) that seems to have worked, slightly. I filled a container will filtered brita water (tap water that is filetered) and i let it set to get rid of the chlorine. then i dropped my seeds in the water. i came back 3 days later and noticed that two had very slightly cracked open, and one of them had opened enough for a tail to come out. i planted them, and a week later nothing had happened. i decided to take the seed that had the slight tail and re-emerse it in more filtered water. does anyone have any suggestions on how to get this seed (and my other seeds which haven't changed in over a week) to grow? thanx people! Get the dope, and just smoke!
