I germed about 5 seeds successfully the proceeded to plant them each 1/4" - 1/2" in cups filled w/ Miracle Grow Moisture Control Potting Mix. It has been about a week and a half and nothing has happened, i decided to dig one up and what i found was a seed covered in white fuzzy looking stuff all around the seam of the bean, what gives? Is this bad?

Likely a mold or fungus, I'm guessing if your plants have not appeared yet they won't now. Problem might have been many things. Overwatering? Some folks like to put plastic wrap over the pots to seal in mositure. I don't care for this it does not allow for natural evaporation and can cause a hot pocket of air to be sealed in also. Big swings in temp can be bad. Temperture shock could kill the seeds also. Could just be bad luck too. Try again and best of luck GB

thanks gb, your true blue. I actually used yogurt cups w/ holes cut in the bottom, i remembered hearing somewhere on here to cover w/ saran wrap so i just put the yogurt lid on. That my have been the problem, ive started 3 schwagg seeds in a recycled yogurt cup w/out the lid to see how this effects them. I was also concerned that maybe i bought a bogus soil for this purpose, whats the best meduim for a soil grow? all my other grows ive used dirt and sand mixed from my back yard i decided to try potting soil this time. Im keeping the beans on a heating pad w/ a glass plate seperating the cups and the pad to prevent moisture reaching the pad. How much should i water the beans? is it the same as for a mj plant thats already established? Seems rather silly to me, my last grow i threw some ugly seeds in half a vodka bottle w/ mud and sand and forgot about it then i had a plant, now that i pay attention to it they dont want to grow.

seed mold can also be from surface bacteria on the seeds, 2 drops of bleach per cup of water to wsh th seeds is a good idea to prevent this.

Thanks for the tip Oz, i wonder if i can use the bleach mix when watering the seeds aswell to prevent mold or if its only effective during germ
